Adored mother of Michele Butchar and husband Michael Butchar of Garnerville, NY and Christine Vazquez and husband David Aguirre of Fairfield, CT. Proud grandmother of Kevin Seda and wife Adrianna, Scarlett Aguirre and Tristan Aguirre. Loving great-grandmother of Kaedan and Adrien Seda.

Virginia was an assistant superintendent for the NYC Dept. of Homeless Services for 36 years and was a member of District Council 37, AFSCME and AFL-CIO.

Mary K. Spillane

Mary K. Spillane (nee Sullivan), 94, of Bedford, NY, formerly of Rye, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Beloved wife of Denis J. Spillane. Loving mother of Dennis K. and wife Ellen of Bedford, NY and Brian D. and wife Carol of Old Tappan, NJ. Cherished grandmother of Katherine and Kevin. Dearest sister of Ellen Daly, Elizabeth McCabe and the late Hanora, Johanna, Patrick and Daniel.

Mary was an administrative assistant to the president for Crowley Chemical Corp in NYC for 35 years. Prior to that she worked at American Chemical Society for seven years.

Pura R. Roundy

Pura R. Roundy (nee Ramos), 86, of Fort Lee, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Robert Roundy.  Cherished mother of Marissa Mayid and partner Thomas Ficucello, Ruby Indrakosit and partner Victor Chadwick, and Ruben Roque II and partner Lydia Roque. Proud grandmother of five grandchildren—Kelly, Ilana, Reuben, Rachelle, and Michelle.

Pura was an immensely powerful, accomplished woman who instilled intellect, confidence, and love in all her children and grandchildren. In the 1960s, Pura was the first woman to serve as President of an entire shopping complex where she also independently owned and operated her own department store – unheard of during this generation. She then brought herbusiness, art, and fashion & jewelry designs to NYC for many years before retiring.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 11 AM to 1:30PM, followed by a prayer service from 1:30 PM to 2 PM, at the Pizzi Funeral Home – 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ (201-767-3050).

Michael Gregory Valentine

Michael Gregory Valentine, 36, of Norwood, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Cherished son of Gregory Valentine and his wife Evelyn of Leonia and Ellen Valentine of Norwood. Loving brother of Matthew and his wife Lindsay of Montvale. Adored uncle of Brooke and Jack. Beloved nephew of Brian and Patti Valentine of Wyckoff and cousin of Samantha and Thomas. Dear step-brother of Samantha Lish.

Michael was a Video Editor for Deluxe Entertainment in Northvale. He loved hockey and played in high school for Bergen Catholic and St. Joe’s as well as for the NJ Mavericks and NJ Devils. 

Visiting hours will be Monday, June 3, from 5-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. 

Funeral will be Tuesday, June 4, 11 AM at the funeral home and then to Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, where a memorial service will be held at 12 PM.

Richard L. DeGhetto

Richard L. DeGhetto, 85, of Northvale, was called to the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2019. He was born September 16, 1933.

Richard greeted each sunrise by giving thanks for yet another beautiful day. Even though his body had become weaker, his faith and appreciation for the life he’d been graced with grew stronger.

Richard is survived by his love, best friend, soul mate and the strongest woman there ever was, his wife of 63 years, Lee (nee Giannone). Cherished father of Diane Bonizzi and her children, Michael, Cassandra, Anthony and Vincent, Richard M. DeGhetto and his children, Richard, Bradley and Carly, and Gina and Chris Marksbury and their daughter Sabrina.

Richard was a top agent for Prudential Insurance Company and was part of the million dollar sales group, which was quite an accomplishment for that era. Prior to that he was a design draftsman for Wright Aeronautical Corp. He was also a member of the International Order of Redmen Half Moon Tribe in Northvale.

Se Ki Kim

Se Ki Kim was born June 20, 1935 in the GyeongSangDo(h) Province of South Korea. Born into humble beginnings, his strength and resilience gained him an 8th-Degree Black Belt in Judo. Using his skills, he trained the police cadets of Seoul, South Korea. In 1973, he brought his wife and two daughters to America and built a new legacy of family, success and Christ. We praise the Lord to have received our dad into his Kingdom on May 23rd, 2019. Se Ki Kim was a tough man, a loving man, and a good man. He is loved by his wife, his daughters, his granddaughter and an innumerable amount of people along his journey on this earth.

Robert J. Murphy

Robert J. Murphy, 96, of Northvale, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. Beloved husband of Rosemary (nee Fagan). Cherished father of James and wife Candiss of Highland Mills, NY, Robin Lombardi and husband Samuel of Summit, NJ and Peter of Northvale. Proud grandfather of Patrick, Shannon, Robert and David. Predeceased by three sisters and one brother.

Bob was a US Army Air Corp veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Northvale VFW and served as commander.  Bob was an office manager for Nabisco Bakery in Fairlawn before retirement.  He was a former councilman of Northvale and was head of the board of adjustments, was investment advisor for the Bergen County Utilities and was an active parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church in Northvale.

Ann W. Kilpatrick (nee Kennedy), 88, of Northvale, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019. Beloved wife of Robert R. Kilpatrick for 59 years. Loving sister of the late Pearl Masincup and her late husband Paul. Sister-in-law of Enid Schaechinger and her late husband Kenneth and Ronald Schmitz and his late wife Eileen. Cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Ann was office manager for Kilpatrick  Moving and Storage in Northvale from 1961-1985.

Stephen J. DiGemma

Stephen J. DiGemma, 55, of Haworth, beloved brother, uncle and godfather passed away quietly in his sleep on Monday, May 6, 2019. Survived by his brothers, Mark of Geneva, Switzerland and Peter and wife Elsa of Haworth, and his nieces, Lauren, Robin and husband Max Alex, and Chloe.

Steve was employed by NJ Dept. of Transportation and a graduate of DeVry University. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family and extensive circles of friends. He was an all-around good guy with endless knowledge of movies and music. He will be missed by everyone he touched in his life.
