Richard L. DeGhetto

Richard L. DeGhetto, 85, of Northvale, was called to the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2019. He was born September 16, 1933.

Richard greeted each sunrise by giving thanks for yet another beautiful day. Even though his body had become weaker, his faith and appreciation for the life he’d been graced with grew stronger.

Richard is survived by his love, best friend, soul mate and the strongest woman there ever was, his wife of 63 years, Lee (nee Giannone). Cherished father of Diane Bonizzi and her children, Michael, Cassandra, Anthony and Vincent, Richard M. DeGhetto and his children, Richard, Bradley and Carly, and Gina and Chris Marksbury and their daughter Sabrina.

Richard was a top agent for Prudential Insurance Company and was part of the million dollar sales group, which was quite an accomplishment for that era. Prior to that he was a design draftsman for Wright Aeronautical Corp. He was also a member of the International Order of Redmen Half Moon Tribe in Northvale.

In our hearts, so deeply loved.

“Always kiss me goodnight.”

Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050). A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 AM with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.

Those who wish may make donations in Richard’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or to Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center, 300 Corporate Boulevard South, Yonkers, NY 10701, https://setonpediatric.org/online-donation/

  1. I’ve known Richard and Lee and their children all my life, although I’ve moved away along time ago every time I would see Rich and Lee it was like I never left they both always made you feel welcomed and loved their two very special people along with their children. My mom Arlene lives with myself now and is probably on the phone with Lee everyday, Rich and Lee are very close to her heart and I know how hurt she is in loosing a good friend like Rich. Myself, mom, and my brother Randy want to send our deepest sympathy to the entire DeGhetto family you all will be in our prays and in our hearts,we love you all. Rich has not left us he now looks over all of us. Love Bruce Jahoda Mom and Randy
