  1. From the 307th FSS (Barksdale AFB, LA), our deepest sympathies and condolences on the loss of your beloved Bertie. We made a donation to the Five Fathers Children’s Charity in her memorial and sending healing and loving prayers.

  2. I met and became a sister of Bertie Mae through her sister Lesile. I loved her as my big sisters. Bertie you are gone from this earth, but you left a special touch on my heart just for you love. Rest In Peace. Continue to gut out the bread of sandwiches

  3. Bertie was such a class act. Not only was she a beloved nurse at the high school where I work, but she and I built a strong connection when she helped me through my IVF treatments. I hated those cursed progesterone shots, but Bertie always found a way to spare me pain and make me laugh in spite of my discomfort. And then later, she provided me with a haven in her office to pump and store my milk during the school day. I will never forget her naughty humor, her short and loud laughs, or her deep empathy. I will also miss our conversations about her adventures with her chickens.

Bertie, you got a raw deal and were taken far too soon from us. I’m deeply upset about that. But, if there is another life that awaits us, I know that you will be holding court there, waiting for the rest of us slow-pokes to finally join you. Rest in peace, dear friend.
