Leonard Anthony Capabianca Sr., 88, of Northvale, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving children<\/strong> on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 9:34 a.m. Born in Hackensack, he spent his entire life calling Northvale home \u2014 a town he helped shape through his work, his community involvement, and his endless devotion to family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A true man of determination and dedication, Leonard\u2019s life was marked by hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. In his early years, he was the owner and operator of a Gulf gas station<\/strong> and Paradise Lounge and Club<\/strong>. Over the years, he proudly poured his energy into a wide variety of ventures, including Yoohoo Beverage, Congruent Machinery Company, Rockleigh Golf Course and Pro Shop, Hackensack Courthouse Food Concession, The Colosseum\/Leonardo\u2019s, Nick\u2019s Northvale Ravioli & Deli, Beverage Bar, Blue Hill Mansion Restaurant,<\/strong> and Harbor Lights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leonard also dedicated many years to public service as a Northvale Councilman<\/strong> and later as a Bergen County Security Guard<\/strong>, roles in which his integrity, reliability, and sense of community shone through. Beyond work and civic service, Leonard gave back to the town he loved by coaching Northvale baseball for many years<\/strong> \u2014 sharing his time, patience, and love of the game with countless young players who will remember him not just as a coach, but as a mentor and friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leonard was the devoted husband of the late Carol Ann Capabianca<\/strong>, with whom he shared decades of love, laughter, and partnership. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, tradition, and the kind of love that lasts a lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is survived by his children: Leonard Jr. and Linda Capabianca, Toni and Steven Sr. Macchio, Dean and Cheryl Capabianca, and Loretta and Richard Esola.<\/strong> His loving legacy continues through his grandchildren: Erica; Dean Jr. and Anthony; Steven Jr.; Sabrina; Toni; Jennifer; Jesse; Shane;<\/strong> and Matthew.<\/strong> His great-grandchildren \u2014 Aria, Elliana, Beau, Wyatt, Madelyn, Bodhi,<\/strong> and Eli<\/strong> \u2014 brought him endless pride and joy. Leonard also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will never forget his generosity, humor, and steady presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leonard\u2019s life was built around family, faith, and community. He found his greatest joy in simple moments \u2014 Sunday dinners, family stories, and the laughter that filled his home. He was a man of quiet strength and deep love whose influence will continue to ripple through generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting Hours<\/strong> are Wednesday, October 15, 2025<\/strong> \u2014 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
