Alice M. English (nee Stears), 90, of Northvale, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 19, 2026. Beloved wife of John Edward English. Loving mother of James and his wife Patricia, Joseph, John and his fianc\u00e9 Laura and Alice Lyman and her husband John. Proud grandmother of Jimmy and fianc\u00e9 Gabriella, Joseph, Michael, Sean and fianc\u00e9 Olivia, Haley, Lauryn and Maya. Dear sister of the late Barbara Stears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alice graduated from St. Mary\u2019s School of Nursing in Brooklyn in 1957 and had a diverse career spanning many years. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan, NY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 23, 2026 at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Tappan with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 4-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice\u2019s memory may be made to St. Jude\u2019s Children\u2019s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
