Joan M.\u00a0Ascolese\u00a0(nee Ahrens), 85, of Norwood, NJ, passed away\u00a0on \u00a0Monday, May 11, 2026. \u00a0Beloved wife of the late Joseph.\u00a0\u00a0Loving mother of Janet Daly and Gregory\u00a0Ascolese\u00a0and his wife Yoshiko.\u00a0\u00a0Caring grandmother of Kevin, Kara (Christopher),\u00a0Miyako\u00a0and Louis.\u00a0\u00a0Proud great-grandmother of\u00a0Layla\u00a0and Christopher Joseph.\u00a0\u00a0Joan is also survived my many loving friends and relatives. \u00a0She was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Ethel Ahrens, and her siblings Warren and Lois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joan had been a resident of Norwood since 1959.  She was married to Joseph for 63 years and loved traveling with him, especially up to Maine.  Joan was a lunch aide at Norwood Public School for many years.  In her free time, she loved music, dancing and cooking.  She was always upbeat and outgoing, and was a friend to all.  She will be deeply missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting hours are Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 4-7 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Washington Township, NJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In lieu of flower\u2019s donations in Joan\u2019s memory can be made to the Alzheimer\u2019s Association: alz.org<\/p>\n\n\n\n
