Loving mother of Morgan Tighe and Bernadette Vero and her husband, Anthony. Caring grandmother of Grace (Chris), Reed, Laura (Timothy), Michael, and Maria (Matthew), and great-grandmother of Victoria Evelyn. She is also survived by many loving friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Alice, and her four siblings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Evelyn was born in Sligo, Ireland. She trained in England, beginning a lifetime of nursing that took her throughout England, Ireland, New York City, and Rockland County. Evelyn met the love of her life, Denis, in Sligo, where they were neighbors. They eventually came to the United States and were married at Sacred Heart Church in the Bronx, NY. Their children, Morgan and Bernadette, were born in the Bronx, and the family later made their home in Palisades, NY, where they built a life filled with family, love, and cherished memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those who knew Evelyn will remember her for the warmth and kindness she shared so freely. Evelyn always met you with a warm welcome and gave people her time, her heart, and her home. Her door was always open, and she welcomed family, friends, and loved ones, often giving them a place to stay and making them feel as though they were part of the family. She had a generous spirit and a gift for making people feel comfortable, cared for, and at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4\u20138 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/search\/120+Paris+Avenue,+Northvale,+NJ?entry=gmail&amp;source=g\">120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ<\/a>.
