Eileen Neff, 78, of South Nyack, died on February 22, 2016 at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, NY, after a short and unexpected illness, with her loving family by her side. \u00a0She is survived by her best friend and husband of 53 years, Thomas E. Neff, her daughters Jennifer Grennan and Neal of Tappan, NY and Caryn Neff of Valley Cottage, NY. \u00a0She leaves behind her most\u00a0cherished grandchildren Paige, Luke and Quinn Grennan, her sister, Mary Burke of Little Ferry, NJ and her brother,\u00a0John F. McCarthy of Juno Beach, FL as well as her\u00a0nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n

Eileen was born in the Bronx on June 18, 1937 to John and Julia McCarthy (nee Burns). \u00a0She spent much of her\u00a0childhood in the parish of Holy Spirit, Bronx, NY and graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan. \u00a0Eileen lived in Pearl River for fifteen years before moving to South Nyack where she enjoyed the Hudson River view. \u00a0She retired as a Teaching Assistant from the South Orangetown Central School District. \u00a0Her greatest joy was found in the company of her family – most especially her\u00a0treasured grandchildren. \u00a0Her love of laughter and her unique insight will be deeply missed.<\/p>\n

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence, 415 Buena Vista Rd., New City, NY 10956. \u00a0Visiting will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, New Jersey\u00a0on Friday\u00a0from\u00a04 – 8pm. \u00a0A mass of Christian burial will be held at Saturday at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Tappan, NY with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.<\/p>\n
