Claire A. Whelan (nee Curran), 92, of Township of Washington, formerly of Lyndhurst, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Robert G. Whelan. Cherished mother of Robert T. Whelan and his wife Donnamarie of Upper Saddle River. Loving aunt of three nieces and one nephew. Dear sister of the late Timothy Curran, Helen Smith, Virginia McCallum and Adele Mead.<\/p>\n
Claire was the purchasing agent for the administrator for the Township of Washington for 19 years before retiring in 1989. She was also President of Miriam Gemmel Auxiliary of the Children\u2019s Aid and Adoption Society from 1961-1963.<\/p>\n
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 12 Noon at Annunciation RC Church, Paramus with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.<\/p>\n
