Maddalena Puglia (nee Capozzoli) passed away peacefully at the Brentwood in Norwood, NJ on March 23, 2016.\u00a0 She was born in Aquara, Italy (province of Salerno) and was a longtime resident of Northvale, NJ.\u00a0 Beloved wife of the late Salvatore.\u00a0 She is survived by her devoted daughter Annette Herskowitz and her husband Wayne of Tappan, NY.\u00a0 She leaves behind three grandsons whom she adored – Brett, Erik, and Jason.\u00a0 Also survived by her sister Irene of Aquara, Italy and brother Lucido of Toronto, Canada.\u00a0 Lovingly cared for by Theresa for many years.<\/p>\n
Lena will be remembered for her love of gardening and working outdoors as well as her cooking, especially Sunday afternoon meals with her family.\u00a0 She cherished the moments she spent with her family and friends and loved being a grandmother.\u00a0 While Lena embraced her adopted country, she never lost touch with her Italian heritage.\u00a0 She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.<\/p>\n
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10:00 at St. Anthony\u2019s RC Church, Northvale with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.\u00a0 Visiting hours are Monday 4-7 PM at the Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local charity of one\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n
