On April 18, 2019, Jacqueline Winter Thomas crossed to the\nother side of the river. She was 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was a poet, a philosopher, a lover of trees, and\ndelighted in snowfall, who strived always to translate herself. She loved\nmountains and rivers and was most comfortable in her solitude, wherever or in\nwhomever she found it. She held a bachelor\u2019s degree in literature from Ramapo\nCollege of New Jersey and a masters of fine arts in creative writing from the\nUniversity of North Carolina at Wilmington. She had recently been accepted as\nan English fellow at Brandeis University\u2019s PhD program. She was a poetry reader\nat The Adroit Journal and a contributing editor at Eratio Poetry Journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jacqueline is survived by her other, her person, her partner\nRobert von Heine-Geldern and his family; her loving mother and father, Lisa\nVenezia Thomas and Charles Thomas; her sister and best friend, Jeanette Thomas,\nand husband, Matthew Cavender; her Poppa and morning coffee date, Rocco\nVenezia; her devoted grandparents, Willa and Charlie Thomas; and many loving\naunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She treasured her cats Panda and Echo, and\nfostered and found forever homes for at least nine other shelter cats. She was\npredeceased by her dear Nonna, Maria Venezia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A memorial service for family and friends will be held from\nnoon to 3 pm on Wednesday, April 24 at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave.,\nNorthvale, NJ. A memorial mass will be held at 11 am Thursday, April 25 at St.\nAndrew\u2019s R.C. Church, 120 Washington Ave., Westwood, NJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
