John J. Maschi, 90, a longtime resident of Norwood, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012.\u00a0 Born October 17, 1922 to the late Paul and Catherine Maschi.\u00a0 Beloved husband of the late Josephine (nee D\u2019Ercole).\u00a0 Devoted father and father-in-law of John and Linda Maschi of CA, Sharon and Peter Anderson, Linda and Peter Daniele, and Tina Maschi, all of Norwood.\u00a0 Cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Laura,
\nKevin, Anthony, Christopher, Johnathan, Michael, and Micah.\u00a0 Predeceased by two sisters, Mary T. Giannotti and Santina Mooney, and three brothers, Joseph, Louis, and Charles.<\/p>\n
John was a proud Veteran, having served with the 66th<\/sup> Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop in WWII.\u00a0 He belonged to the American Legion in Norwood.\u00a0 John retired from the Ford Motor Company in Mahwah after 43 years, and continued to work\u00a0 at D\u2019Ercole Farm in Norwood.<\/p>\n Besides his family, John will always be remembered for his love of the Yankees, Giants, and ice cream.<\/p>\n A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Sunday 2 PM at Immaculate Conception Church, Norwood, 211 Summit St., Norwood. It will be followed by a luncheon at Colonial Inn which vegetarian food will also be served.<\/p>\n In lieu of flowers, donations to the Norwood American Legion, 480 Broadway, Norwood, NJ 07648, or the North Jersey Chapter of the Alzheimer\u2019s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834 (www.alz.org) , in John\u2019s memory would be appreciated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" John J.
