Gertrude T. Segedin (nee Battifarano), 95, of Port St Lucie, FL, formerly of New Milford, NJ, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband and high school sweetheart, Francis Segedin, son, Gregg Segedin and brothers, James Battifarano and Leonard Battifarano and wife Nancy and baby sister, Margaret Battifarano. Beloved mother of Thomas Segedin and his wife Jeanne, Francis Segedin and his wife Lorraine, Richard Segedin and his wife Patricia, Robert Segedin, Jane Gallucci and her husband Glen and Paul Segedin and his wife Sheila. Cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gert was hard-working and athletic. She and her husband Fran proudly built their first brick home at 1101 Sheridan. She was a realtor in addition to the many other jobs she had through the years.  She was an active parishioner of Ascension RC Church in New Milford and was active in many ministries there.  Gert was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will forever be remembered by her beautiful quilts and for her happy spirit, as she loved to dance and whistle even while she cleaned!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting hours are Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 2-4 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 29, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Anthony\u2019s RC Church, Northvale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
