The oldest of four children, Ilona was born November 7,&nbsp;1940, at Lenox Hill Hospital, NYC to her loving parents John and Theresa (Marth)&nbsp;Stampf. She graduated from Taft High School in 1957 at the age of&nbsp;16&nbsp;and went to work as a secretary. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ilona&nbsp;met Tommy Moran at Orchard Beach, NY. She refused to share her phone number, but Tommy convinced her girlfriends to share it with him! Thankfully, she answered that call and they soon happily fell in love and were&nbsp;married&nbsp;on April 23,1960. Theirs was a fairytale marriage admired by all.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;devoted stay-at-home Mom to her three daughters, Ilona and Tommy raised their family in the Bronx until they moved to West Nyack in 1972 and became active parishioners at St. Anthony\u2019s Church in Nanuet. Ilona volunteered on many fronts for St. Anthony\u2019s Religious Education program, as well as&nbsp;for&nbsp;their Senior Citizen program serving lunches. &nbsp;She agreed to fill in temporarily as a Girl Scout Leader and 10 years later was still leading GS Troop 22! &nbsp;Later, after Tommy retired, they became Eucharistic Ministers at Nyack Hospital which she continued to do for many years after Tommy died in 2012.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of&nbsp;Ilona\u2019s&nbsp;most treasured roles was as a stay-at-home grandmother, helping to care for each of her nine grandchildren whenever&nbsp;needed, supporting them throughout their school years and at track meets,&nbsp;games,&nbsp;concerts and graduations and well into their adult lives. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ilona&nbsp;is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Fox, Theresa and Patrick Sullivan, Kathleen and James&nbsp;Fulgione, and&nbsp;her grandchildren, Katherine and Susan Fox, Lauren, Thomas and Devin Sullivan, Kathleen (Sullivan) and Nicholas Gallo, Eric and Nicholas&nbsp;Fulgione. She is also survived and will be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law John and Rosemary&nbsp;Stampf, Frank and Terri&nbsp;Stampf&nbsp;and Barbara&nbsp;Stampf, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ilona&nbsp;is predeceased by her husband, Thomas, the love of her life, her parents John and Theresa&nbsp;Stampf, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Michael and Mary Ellen Moran,&nbsp;several&nbsp;beloved&nbsp;brothers- and sisters-in law,&nbsp;her brother Joseph&nbsp;Stampf,&nbsp;and her most beloved grandson, Joseph Fox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are so\u00a0grateful for her incredible\u00a0Hospice team, Donna, Kelsey,\u00a0and\u00a0Rabbi\u00a0Shlomo,\u00a0and\u00a0ever so grateful to the wonderful women\u00a0who\u00a0helped us take care of our\u00a0Mom these past five\u00a0years~Eileen\u00a0Tucci, Nellie, Alison, Annabelle,\u00a0Dionne and Mom\u2019s\u00a0\u201cA-Team,\u201d\u00a0Arlene\u00a0and\u00a0Angie.\u00a0We especially want to acknowledge\u00a0and thank\u00a0Arlene,\u00a0who was\u00a0Mom\u2019s devoted caregiver\u00a0at home for more than 2 \u00bd years.\u00a0 <br><br>Visiting hours are Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4-7 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ.
