Jeanne M. Avitabile (nee Sogliuzzo), 90, a native New Yorker of Chelsea, moved to NJ when she was a child & lived most recently in Harrington Park, formerly of Tenafly and Cliffside Park. Jeanne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Dominick. Loving mother of Lisa Knowles and her husband Rick and Gina Hansen and her husband Eric. Proud grandmother of Dominick (Rachel), Nicolette, Celia and Audrey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Predeceased by five sisters; Sylvia Iulo (Bob), Assunta Sogliuzzo, Carmella Galasso (Augie), Claire Zakar and Maryann Artuso (Phil). She was also the cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeanne was an administrative assistant for the Bergen County Board of Social Services for many years. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Victories RC Church, Harrington Park and was also a Rosarian. She was a devoted wife, mommy, grandmother (Sheesh), aunt and friend. Nothing mattered more to her than her family and harmony amongst us. A diehard Sinatra fan who could also do play by play for the Yankees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting hours are Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 2-5 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Victories RC Church, Harrington Park with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanne\u2019s memory to the St. Francis Bread Line, www.stfrancisbreadline.org, would be greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
