November 4, 1953 \u2013 July 25, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catherine \u201cKatie\u201d Nielsen-Mays of Middletown, NY passed away at the age of 71 on
July 25, 2025 in Monsey, NY after a long battle with cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katie is survived by her daughters Kellyann Nielsen-Carney, Amy Nielsen-Lauer, and
Melisa Nielsen as well as her grandchildren Richard Wilson, Brian Marcus, Richard
Carney, Aidan Carney, Gavin Carney, William Kelius, Mackenzie Kelius and Jacob
Lauer. Preceding her in death were her parents Jens Christian Nielsen and Ruth
Currier, her siblings Claire Myszelow, Charles \u201cChuck\u201d Nielsen and Carol Shaw along
with her husband, William Mays. She is survived by her sister Arline Rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katie was a mom to not only her own children but to the whole neighborhood. If you
visited her home enough times you were put on the daily chore list. She loved to cook
and feed those she loved, constantly sending food home with you. However, if you
wanted to be fed again you best make sure to bring back her Tupperware!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In accordance to Katie\u2019s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Her remains will be
cremated and laid to rest next to her husband. Condolences can be sent to her family
at: 197 Washington Street, Northvale, NJ 07647<\/p>\n\n\n\n
