John T. Fenton, aged 72, passed away suddenly on January 13, 2026, at Waimea Queens Hospital on the Big Island of Hawaii. John was born to Camilla A. Fenton and Thomas F. Fenton. He is survived by the love of his life Frances Terraciano Fenton and his two beloved daughters, Katelyn and Sarah, as well as his 5 siblings and their spouses Thomas F and Victoria (Davenport), Eugene (deceased), Patrick J and Carolyn (Guzik), Joseph T, Maryellen and Keith Wiles and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
John graduated with his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville, followed by his Masters Degree in Finance from Long Island University. He started his Financial career at Clifton Savings & Loan. In 1987, John joined Synergy as their CEO for 8 years which led to his tenure at Affinity Federal Credit Union where he served as CEO for 27 years as well as Board Chair of the Affinity Foundation. John was a hard working man, he took pride in his work and showed an infinite amount of passion with anything and everything he did. Those in John’s professional life knew him to lead with a person-first mentality, humility, thoughtfulness, compassion, and patience.
John was a family oriented man, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend. John enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, playing cards, joining his brothers and friends on camping trips, golfing, traveling, playing with our family dog Milo and of course, spending time on the Big Island of Hawaii. John’s life was full of love, happiness, and adventure, he embraced every day and his absence leaves a lasting impression on all those that knew him.
