Alice M. English (nee Stears), 90, of Northvale, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 19, 2026. Beloved wife of John Edward English. Loving mother of James and his wife Patricia, Joseph, John and his fiancé Laura and Alice Lyman and her husband John. Proud grandmother of Jimmy and fiancé Gabriella, Joseph, Michael, Sean and fiancé Olivia, Haley, Lauryn and Maya. Dear sister of the late Barbara Stears.

Alice graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Brooklyn in 1957 and had a diverse career spanning many years. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan, NY.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 23, 2026 at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Tappan with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 4-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050).

Violetta Alessio

Violetta Alessio (nee Toscano), 93, of Tappan, NY, (formerly of Nanuet, NY, and Wilmington, NC ) passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Beloved wife of the late John V. Alessio. Cherished mother of John Alessio and wife Elismara, Linda Wynne and husband William and Susan McGivney and husband Kevin. Proud grandmother of John (Dyene), Kimberly (Gino), Robert, Brittany, Kiera, Conner, Michael (Emmy), Kaylie (Chris), Matthew and Thomas and great-grandmother of Jasmine, Julie, Angelina and Riley.  She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.

Violetta (aka Viola) was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a heart of gold, and made a lasting impression with everyone she met.  She had many friends and was always ready to play a game.  Whether it was mahjong, bingo, cards or puzzles, she was there.  She loved to dance, go to the movies and socialize with friends and family.   She worked many years at Pearson (formerly Simon & Shuster) in Old Tappan, NJ and was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church. She will be dearly missed.

Josephine Adamo

Josephine Adamo, 85, of Sparkill, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Beloved sister of Richard Adamo and his wife Rose. Loving companion to Jon McKeever.  Cherished aunt of Maria Guerriero (late John), Joanne King (Brian), Rose Scaccia (Jim) and the late Gina Adamo-Scaglione (Gregg). Dear great-aunt of James (Kelly), Richard (Sabrina), Vincent, Gianna, Joseph, Brandon, Dominick, Sophia and Rocco. She was predeceased by her loving parents Joseph and Christina Adamo.

Josephine was a CCD teacher’s assistant at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Tappan, NY, where she was an active parishioner for many years.

John “JC” Cummings

John “JC” Cummings, 60, of Harrington Park, New Jersey, passed away on January 12, 2026.
Born and raised in Harrington Park, JC lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and an easy laugh that warmed every room he entered.

JC was the beloved partner of 25 years to Nancy Shearman, a devoted brother to James Cummings, and a cherished uncle to Caitlin, Fiona, and Seamus. He was a loyal friend to many and was always the first to lend a hand when someone needed support. 

A skilled carpenter, JC worked for many years with Local 157, where he took pride in his craft and the people he worked alongside. Beyond his work, JC was a passionate music lover, especially of The Rolling Stones, the Grateful Dead, and The Doors. Whether sharing a favorite song or telling a story, he brought joy and connection to those around him.

JC will be remembered for his humor, his wit, his sweet heart, and the countless ways he made others’ lives brighter. His spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly carried forward by all who knew him.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate JC’s life on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 3-5 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ.

Frank John Carullo

Frank John Carullo, 92 of Old Tappan, NJ, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Beloved husband of 62 years to Gladys (nee DeLaurentis). Loving father of Frank T. Carullo and Laura Butterworth and her husband James. Proud grandfather of Gabrielle, Alec, Allison, Nicole and Madeline.

Frank was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was a dedicated parishioner of St. Pius X RC Church.

Vincent Joseph Diggins

Vincent Joseph Diggins, 63, of Newark (formerly of Old Tappan) NJ, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2025.  Beloved brother of Bernadette and Claire.  He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.  He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Catherine Diggins, and his siblings:  Therese, Stephen, Matthew, Timothy and Eileen.

Vincent loved his motorcycles, taking his Harley’s anywhere and everywhere as he rode cross country multiple times.  He was an avid reader and loved music, with large collections of books, vinyl records and CD’s. He enjoyed writing and acting in off Broadway shows, while he was writing a book and a new play.  Vince loved hiking both locally and through many of the National State Parks.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him…

Frances C. DiMenna

Frances C. DiMenna (née Narcisse), 88, of Blauvelt, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond DiMenna and a loving mother to Alex (deceased) and his wife Lisa, Laura, Karen, and Ray, and his wife Lynda. She was an adored grandmother to Alex, Kayla, and Ray. Frances was a caring sister to Lorraine and was predeceased by her sisters, Nancy and Marion. She is also survived by many loving relatives and dear friends.

If you knew Fran, the first thing you noticed was her smile — a bright, unmistakable smile that could light up a room, and often did. Above all else, Frances cherished her family. They were her greatest joy and her proudest role in life. Her love was constant, fierce, and unconditional.

A world traveler herself, Frances spent more than 40 years as a travel consultant, most notably with Closter Plaza Travel, where she shared her passion for exploration and connection with countless others.

Enrico D’Eufemia

Enrico D’Eufemia, 94, of Harrington Park, NJ, formerly of New Milford, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.  Beloved husband of the late Rose (nee Grimaldi).  Loving father of Joann Johnston and her husband Rob and the late Louis D’Eufemia.  Caring grandfather of Nicole and her husband Will, Robert, and Erica and her husband Alex.  Proud great-grandfather of Jameson, Preston, Everly, Liam, Brady and Ava.  He is also survived by many other loving friends and relatives.  He was predeceased by his siblings Anthony and Camille.

Enrico was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the Korean War.  He worked as a Union cement mason for 40+ years.  Enrico was also very active in his community both as a member of the New Milford VFW Post 4290 and Club 60 in Harrington Park.

Margaret “Peggy” LaTouche

Margaret G. LaTouche (nee Lane), “Peggy”, 96, of Northvale, formerly of Bronx, NY, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Predeceased by her husband, Paul Joseph LaTouche, her son, John Arthur and daughter, Danielle Marie Lohsen.
Peggy is survived by her beloved children, Gerard, Denise Simons, Paul Michael and his wife Janet, Patrice LaTouche, Suzanne Dacuba and her husband Andree, and Robert, 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Peggy graduated from St. Simon Stock Grammar School and The Academy of Mount St. Ursula; married Paul in 1950 and moved to Northvale in 1967 to raise her eight children. She was a parishioner at St. Anthony’s in Northvale, NJ and a longtime member of Rosary Society at Sacred Heart Church in Tappan, NY. She was an avid music lover, Bingo fan, and skilled knitter (many who will cherish her handmade gifts). Peggy enjoyed many activities associated with her church, The Golden Age Club and Northvale Senior Center. She looked forward to her monthly luncheons with her close friends and was the first one to reach out to anyone in need.
Peggy touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her grace, kindness, generosity, patience and limitless love for her family and friends.

Daniel Lawrence Bibb

Daniel L. Bibb, Esq. October 31, 1954 – January 3, 2026

Daniel Lawrence Bibb, 71, of Harrington Park, New Jersey, died on January 3, 2026, surrounded in love by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife Gabriele Higgins Bibb; daughter Devon Bibb and George Valdivia; and daughter Diana Bibb. His daughter Danielle Bibb predeceased him on January 7, 2024. 

Dan will be greatly missed by his sisters Susan Markisz, and Barbara Carns; sister-in-law Ann Higgins; brother-in-law Michael Higgins; cousin Gwynne Barila; and aunt Antoinette Barila. Dan is survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, colleagues, and countless others whose lives he touched. His life was defined by an unwavering love of family and friends. 

When he was younger, Dan attended Villanova University, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s most prestigious academic honor society. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, followed by a Masters of Arts Degree in Political Science. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor at Seton Hall Law School, and began a 40-year career in criminal litigation and trial practice at the state and federal level, both as a prosecutor and later as a defense attorney. In 1982, he joined the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, as an Assistant District Attorney. Dan was a legendary prosecutor in the D.A.’s Office, earning the respect of fellow prosecutors, defense attorneys, judges, and the NYPD. He was one of only a dozen prosecutors to be named Senior Trial Counsel. 

Dan met the love of his life, Gabriele, and they married in May 1988. They welcomed three daughters Danielle, Devon and Diana. Dan’s most cherished traditions included beach vacations with his family to the Outer Banks, North Carolina; sitting by the pool or at the beach; hosting celebrations for family and friends; and watching epic high fantasy adventure and action films. He was a devoted “Dead Head,” attending many Grateful Dead concerts. Dan loved attending dinners and gatherings, talking about old and cold cases, and reminiscing with friends at Forlini’s, Coogan’s, Uncle Jack’s and Villa Mosconi in Manhattan, and PJ Finnegan’s in Westwood. Dan’s was a life well-lived, and his absence leaves a lasting void for all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 2-6 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, New Jersey. A memorial service will take place on Monday, January 19 at 11 AM at the Community Church of Harrington Park, 1 Spring Street, Harrington Park, New Jersey.
