Joan Dolan

Joan Dolan (nee Conway), 80, of Northvale, NJ, formerly of Yonkers, NY, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Peter Dolan.  Devoted mother of James Dolan and wife Tricia of Old Tappan, NJ, Christine Dolan-D’Ercole of Old Tappan, NJ  and Keith Dolan of Piermont, NY. Adored grandmother of Taylor, Matthew, Mae, Frankie and Victoria. Dearest sister of James Conway and wife Rita and Roger Conway and wife Arlene and loving aunt of Arlene.

Joan was an administrative court clerk for many years, serving in Northvale, Emerson and River Vale.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Pius X RC Church, Old Tappan with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.

Anne B. Anderson

Anna B. Anderson (nee McLaughlin), 93, of Washington Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 6, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Anderson.  Loving mother of Peter and his late wife Sharon, Eileen Gerke and her husband John, Trish Miller and her husband Chris, and the late Robert.  Cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Laura, Kevin and wife Colleen, Elizabeth, Thomas, Robert and wife Courtney and Michael and wife Serena.  Adored great-grandmother of Carter, Lola, Sienna, Brayden and Kellan.  She was predeceased by her sister Mary Niskach.  The family would also like to thank Anna’s three caretakers, Maria, Maritza, and Betsy for their endless help and support.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 10th, 2022 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Washington Township with interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, NJ.

Carmen Nicole Alexis Sader

Carmen Nicole Alexis Sader (nee Bonfanti), passed away on August 5th after an extended illness.

Alex was always available to support her daughters’ school-sponsored events and participated in the Girl Scout overnight camping trips and cookie sales.  Her daughters’ birthdays were major celebrations with family and friends.  Alex loved cooking for family and friends.  Her beautiful home reflected her decorating skills with Christmas and Halloween being favorite seasonal decorations.

Alex was a very talented hair stylist and excelled as a colorist.  Her clients became her friends.  She began her career as a stylist at the Plaza Salon at Garden State and later had a large clientele at Allure and Glam, both in Englewood.

Alex and her family spent many wonderful weekends at the Jersey Shore and the family loved to travel.  She loved nature and enjoyed hiking with her daughters.

Alex is survived by her two daughters, Isabella and Gabriella Sader; her ex-husband Fred Sader; her mother, Brenda Bonfanti; her Godfather, Michael Bonfanti; and many cherished cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and dear friends.  She will be missed and forever in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue in Northvale, NJ on Thursday, August 11th from 5-8 PM.

Susan D. Fazio

Susan D. Fazio (nee Buonocore), 72, of Park Ridge, NJ, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Fazio. Loving and devoted mother of three sons, Michael and his wife Denise, Jeffrey and his wife Nicole and the late Joseph D. Proud and adored grandmother of Olivia, Joseph, Eve, Mara and Iyla. Dearest sister of Linda Newton and husband James and Frank Buonocore.

Susan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her life was her family, and they will never be the same without her loving presence.

John and Josephine Carollo

John Carollo and Josephine Carollo (nee Cordaro) passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 and Friday, July 29, 2022, respectively. They are the beloved parents of Tina and her husband Nick Manganiello and Santo and his wife Pauline. Proud grandparents of Nicholas and Daniella. Josephine is also survived by her sister, Gina Somma and her nephew, Nicasio.  

Before retiring, John worked for General Motors in Tarrytown, NY and Josephine worked for Chase Bank in NYC.

Robert C. Carney

Robert C. Carney, 46, of Northvale, NJ, passed away suddenly on Monday, August 1, 2022. Beloved son of Laurie and the late Richard Carney. Proud father of Richard “RJ”, Aidan and Gavin. Dearest brother of Thomas and wife Roxana, Laura Heyn and husband Derek, and Curtis and wife Cassandra. Loving uncle of Joseph, Evan, Hannah, Travis, Seth, Matthew, Kayla and Gabriella. He is also survived by his ex-wife Kellyann, his ever-loving and always supportive friends Stu Pfister and Greg Marvin, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and other cherished friends.

Rob was a selfless and loving man. He was a member of the Northvale Fire Department. He was an operating engineer for Local 30. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed the the simple act of nature moving all around him. Rob would frequently take his sons’ out on hikes and walks. He loved to work with his hands and make things for the people he loved when he didn’t have the words to express it. He enjoyed quilting and making quilts for others. He was also a fan of both the Warhammer 40K tabletop game as well as an avid Pittsburgh Penguins Fan.

Maria Angelica Rubio

Maria Angelica Rubio passed away in her sleep at Holy Name Hospital on Thursday the 28 of July, 2022. She leaves behind her siblings Edwardo Arancibia , Ricardo Arancibia, and Ximena  Garcia. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews that will fondly remember her. 

Maria Angelica was born in Santiago Chile in 1936 to her parents Edwardo and Felicia Victoria Arancibia. She met  and  married the love of her life Rufino Rubio in 1966. They both came to the United States in 1971 to have a better life. She worked many years in Levolor Blinds as a manager until her retirement, then she moved from Jersey City NJ to reading PA with her husband to live their golden years. 

Her husband passed away but Maria kept herself busy continuing to work. She was a strong and independent person. She was a huge animal lover always helping cats and a dog by her side. She loved talking to everyone that would walk across her house porch. With declining health she moved closer to family in New Jersey 2020 leaving her beloved younger brother Ricardo in Reading. 

Family and friends will host a private service to remember and celebrate her full life.

John D. Settle

John D. Settle, 56, of Bardonia, NY, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Loving husband of Suzanne (nee Olson). Adored father of Olivia and Sophia. Beloved brother of Jackie Catalano and her husband Charlie and their children, Alexandra and Nicholas. Dear nephew of Jack Stewart. Also survived by his in-laws, Gail and Kenneth Olson, grandmother-in-law Alice Schmutz , sister in law Erika Durso and her husband John and their children Bella, Anthony, Chloe and Dominic and brother in law Billy Olson.

John was predeceased by his loving parents, Curtis Settle and Carol Stewart and his brother Curt.

John owned and operated Floor Master Inc., a wood floor restoration company in Rockland County for over 25 years.

Frances Sirignano

Frances Sirignano (nee Orzech), 76, of Northvale, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Frances was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Miller) Orzech. Frances was the beloved wife of Louis for 53 years. Loving mother of Joseph and his wife Jennifer of Wescosville, PA, Beth Salai and her husband John of Milford, CT, and Laura Wittreich and her husband Stephen of River Edge, NJ. Adored grandmother of Catherine, Matthew, Michael, Olivia, Isabella, Madeline, Ava, Gavin, and Ella. Dear sister of Joseph Orzech and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frances was born in Brooklyn, NY, on February 9, 1946 and later moved to Emerson, NJ, where she completed elementary school at Assumption in Emerson and attended Immaculate Conception High School in Lodi. She then went on to receive her BA in Economics at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in NY and became a supervisor at American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) in Mount Kisco, NY. Frances later married Louis, raised her family, and served her community in many ways: as Board of Education President for 12 years, as a Den Mother and Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts, as a CCD teacher at St. Anthony’s Church, as a member of the PTSA in Northvale and Old Tappan, and always an active supporter of the Northvale Public Library. Eventually Frances decided to pursue her teaching certification at St. Thomas Aquinas.  She chose to become a building substitute at Old Tappan Middle School so she still had flexibility for her own children.  Without question, her proudest accomplishments were her three children and later her nine grandchildren.  She made it known to all that they were her entire life and strongly believed that her life would go on through them.  Frances was a wonderful wife, mom and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 4-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. A Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Northvale will be celebrated Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 10 AM with interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Frances be made to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at giving.mskcc.org, where she received outstanding care.

Vita Sullivan

Vita Sullivan (nee Privitera), 63, of Old Tappan, NJ, passed away at home on Sunday, July 10, 2022. Beloved wife of the late James Anthony Sullivan, Jr. Cherished mother of Daniel James Sullivan and his wife Jackie. Proud grandmother of Emma James, Tara James and Bella James. Dearest sister of Pauline Behan, Anthony Privitera, Salvatore Privitera, Jo Ann Bright, Robin Cirino and the late Bennett Privitera.

Vita was raised in Brooklyn before moving to Old Tappan in 1987. She worked for the US Customs Service, where she met her husband James. Later, she was a teacher’s aide at Inge Lake Preschool in Norwood for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a loyal friend to many.
