Jane C. Mazzie (nee Wiese), 87, of Arlington, VT, formerly of Norwood, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. Beloved wife of Gary J. Mazzie.  Loving mother of Susan McColgan and her late husband Michael, Nancy McGuire and her husband William, Gary J. Mazzie and his wife Susan, Jane Hidalgo, Michael Mazzie and the late Joseph Mazzie. She was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dearest sister of the late Lawrence Wiese.

Jane was a registered nurse and was Director of Admissions at Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood for many years before retiring.

Carolyn Ann DeMarsico (nee Saltarelli), 80, of Rockland County for many years, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Douglas DeMarsico. Loving mother of Anthony and wife Christine, Catherine Ann DeMarsico, Lisa DeMarsico-Layne, George and wife Jennifer, Joseph and wife Gina and Doug and wife Kasia. Proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Louis Saltarelli and wife Frances and the late Donna Conley.

Carolyn’s greatest joy was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her passion was  cooking, baking and being the devoted matriarch of her loving family. Her sense of humor, strength and huge heart made those who knew Carolyn, love being in her presence.  She was the light in our hearts and will be deeply missed, but we are grateful that she is now at peace.

Eugene Aldo Sampietro, 83, of Wood-Ridge, NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022. He was the proud father of Lea Martone, Lydia Gallucci, Alana Donato and the late Eugene, Jr. Cherished Poppie of Eugene Gregory, Ava, Andrew, Lucas, Paulie, Matthew, Sage and his beloved pet grandogs Rigatoni, Lola and Mo. 

Before retiring, Gene, known as Mr. Sam, was a teacher for the Ridgefield Park Board of Education for many years.  He was an avid Dodgers fan and Rams fan. He loved Broadway, watching classic television and grocery shopping at Shoprite.

Salvatore Bernard Buccola, 87, of Old Tappan, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Beloved husband of Ellen Mae (nee Schaefer). Sal was an instrumental music teacher for the Clarkstown School District in Rockland County, NY for 30 years. He was a professional drummer and played in many bands throughout his life. His greatest passions were his family, music and gardening.

Margaret C. Maccharulo (nee Bevolo), 85, of Tappan, NY, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.  Beloved wife of Nicholas L. Maccharulo. Carole DeSantis (nee Culhane), 83, born and raised in the Bronx, formerly of Demarest, NJ, Nanuet, NY and Fort Mill, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. She was the cherished mother of Deborah DeSantis and her husband Russell Foote and was predeceased by her beloved son Brian DeSantis. Dearest sister of Daniel Culhane and wife Connie and the late Jacqueline Morra. She was also the beloved aunt of Denise and Richard Culhane as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Carole was also predeceased by her first loving husband, Richard Forrestal.

Barbara E. Weintraub (nee Fadul), 88, of Tappan, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022. She was the beloved mother of Lori Lambert and her husband Rip of Baldwin, MD and Meryl Samouhos of Palisades Park, NJ. Proud grandmother of Morgan, Max, Alexander and Kendall. Dearest sister of the late Albert Fadul and Margaret Modaferri.

Barbara was a travel agent for over 30 years and owned “Your Travel Agency” in Northvale. She also loved to perform and was a longtime member of the Leonia Players Guild.

Phyllis A. Minch (nee Coepfel), 85, of Norwood for over 60 years, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.  Beloved wife of the late John E. Minch. Loving mother of John (Greg) and his wife Adele Linson, Steven and his late wife Mercedes Large’, David, and Joel and his wife Ailyn Costa. Proud grandmother of John and Erik. 

She is also survived by her loving partner Jack Roth and of course survived by the love of her life, her cat Maggie.

She was constantly an active driving force in the Norwood Community and loved her work in the school system at Norwood Public School always striving to help students get a better education for over 50 yrs. An avid outdoorswoman, environmentalist and conservationist who loved our national parks with the Adirondacks being closest to her heart. Always fighting for the underdog or little guy. When not outdoors she was enveloped in the arts, theatre, and opera.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 18, 2022 from 2-5 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050).

Carole Anne Nevins, 79, of Northvale, formerly of Harrington Park, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022.  Beloved mother of Frank and wife Beth of Ipswich, MA and Christopher and wife Sarah of Doylestown, PA. Proud grandmother of Michael, Evelyn and Gabriel. Dearest sister of Ellen Cataldo, Mary Nevins and the late Barbara Nevins.

Before retiring, Carole was a registered nurse for many years. She was an avid Bridge player and supported Habitat ReStore.
