With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas E. Byrne of Norwood, NJ.   Mr. T., as he was affectionately known within the family, passed away peacefully at the age of 87.  He was a devoted husband, father, and friend.

Thomas was born to Mary and Thomas Byrne, proud Irish immigrants who instilled in him the values of hard work, family, resilience and always being on time. He carried these principles throughout his life resulting in a merit scholarship in high school requiring him take several trains each day from Queens to get to Bishop Loughlin in Brooklyn. Next step was Manhattan College before starting his career at General Motors in New York City where he met love of his life Jane Bourke Byrne.  He moved on to building a successful career at IBM while always prioritizing family above all else.

He was the beloved husband of the late Jane Byrne, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Her recent passing left a deep void in his heart, and now they are reunited in peace.  A loving and devoted father of four sons;  Paul and wife Kristine,  Chris and wife Joann,  Daniel and wife Eileen, Brian and wife Katie.  Proud grandfather of ten;  Mike, Tommy, Megan, Caitlin, Ian, Kiera, John, Aidan, Liam and Delaney.  Dearest brother to the late Joan McCrann and husband Michael.  

Thomas held season tickets for the NY Giants starting in 1962 and enjoyed tailgates and games with his boys.  A lifelong Yankees fan with fond memories of attending a series game in every Playoff Round as well as World Series with his sons during the 1990’s.  He continued his love of watching the Yankees and discussing baseball with his grandchildren.

A celebration of Thomas’s life will be held on Friday, April 4^th, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Church,  211 Summit Street Norwood NJ at 11:00 am . Burial will follow at St Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the charity of your choice in his memory.

Though he is no longer with us, Thomas’s legacy of love, generosity, and family devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, now forever by Jane’s side.

James J. Clark, 92, of Harrington Park, NJ, passed away at home on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Stanton). Cherished father of three sons; James J. Clark, Jr. and wife Louise M. Gorman, Gerald S. Clark and wife Regina Wimberger-Clark and William F. Clark. Proud grandfather of James G. Clark and wife Naz, Madeline Moyer and husband Zach, Katherine Clark and Sarah Clark.

James was a Marketing Manager for IBM in NYC for 30 years. He was a devoted parishioner and usher at Our Lady of Victories Church, Harrington Park and was a member of the Lions Club. James also enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball in Harrington Park for many years.

Julia Marie Tracy (nee Mazzo)

August 21, 1941- March 19, 2025

Born August 21, 1941, in Westwood, New Jersey, Julia was the 3rd child of Joseph and Lena Mazzo.  The family resided in Old Tappan, New Jersey, where Julia spent her entire life. After high school, Julia went on to secretarial school. She met her beloved husband, Milen (deceased in 2009), at a dance while he was stationed in Orangeburg, New York at the Camp Shanks Army barracks. Julia and Milen quickly fell in love and married on March 16, 1963. They planted their roots, began their family, and made lifelong friends in Old Tappan. 

Julia and Milen were very active together in serving the community of Old Tappan throughout their lives. Julia was very involved in the The Old Tappan Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, participating for decades in providing support. She spent many years delivering the Bergen Record to countless homes. Sharing her “papers” stories will be cherished memories. One of her favorite things to do was serve as crossing guard for countless children and students in Old Tappan for many years. Julia loved having large crowds of family and friends at her home for any holiday. Summer barbeques, endless Easter egg hunts, and endless food on Thanksgiving and Christmas were yearly events. The sounds of children swimming in the pool during the summers were always present. 

Her most important virtue was her commitment to her family and anyone who needed a home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, caretaker, friend and volunteer. Julia dedicated her life to raising her 7 children – Donna (Tracy) Clancy (husband Martin), Joseph (wife Lisa), Paul (wife Gina), Michael, Robert (wife Danielle), Thomas (wife Heather), and James. When the time came for grandchildren, Julia was committed to giving them the same dedication, love and devotion that she gave to her children. Martin, Megan, Matthew, Erik, Sonia, Jenna, RJ, Kiera, Madison, Miley and Savannah all had the best Nanny. Julia was also a great-grandmother to Tate and Karter. Her home was their home, where they all knew love. She was a “mom” to everyone that needed her.

If you knew Julia, you knew she could cook. Nothing was ever catered, everything was prepared by her with love and countless recipes all committed to memory. If you were in her home, you were never hungry. 

Her gifts to her family are the tremendous ability to love unconditionally, her presence, a dedicated work ethic, strong morals and values, being our rock and matriarch, and her endless love. She was the person we went to for everything. Now, we carry on in her tradition, as she reunites with her beloved Milen.  

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 2:00-5:00 at Pizzi Funeral Home 120 Paris Avenue Northvale, New Jersey.

John E. Rooney, 85, of Northvale, NJ and Marco Island, FL, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Beloved husband of 61 years to the late Martha E. Rooney (ne Bollman). Loving father of Beth Rooney and Patrick Rooney. Dear brother of Marilyn Makinen.

John was a US Air Force Veteran. He was the longest serving New Jersey State Assemblyman in the state’s history and was a former Mayor of Northvale. John was a salesman for US Electrical Motors and Toshiba in Houston, TX for many years.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 1 PM at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.

Loyd Stalsbroten, 80, of Fort Lee, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Devoted partner of 37 years to Jill Bush. Loving father of Brenda Weiss and her husband Joseph, Eric Stalsbroten and Dane Stalsbroten and his wife Colleen. Loving step-father to Lafe Bush.  Proud grandfather of Ella, Joey, Alyssa, Nolan, Cora, Wells, Finn, MacKenna and Lucas.  Also survived by many relatives and friends.
Loyd was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for the Teamsters for many years before retiring. Loyd loved his family and his country, riding his motorcycle and cooking.

Jan Kay Glockner (nee Saladino), 79, of Hackensack, NJ, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Beloved mother of Kristin Ognibene and her husband Peter and loving step-mother of Kim Glockner and Gary Glockner. Proud grandmother of Elizabeth, Caroline and Peter and step-grandmother to Jacquelyn, Matthew, Jessica, Adam, Joshua and Jacob, and step-great grandmother to Evangeline, Greyson and Wesley. She is pre-deceased by her loving parents, John L. Saladino and Lois D. (Anderson) Saladino.

Jan grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended Erasmus Hall High School. She then went on to college at the College of Staten Island where she earned her nursing degree. She worked  briefly as a nurse, then moved into the world of advertising where she had a brief yet memorable career with Wells, Rich, Greene. She married Gary Glockner in 1973 and they had a daughter Kristin whom they raised in Hillsdale, NJ.  Jan was a very active member of the White Beeches Golf & Country Club in Haworth, NJ where she spent countless hours with friends, at the pool, playing golf and enjoying life. In addition, some of her favorite times were spent with friends from the Hillsdale community when she was managing her daughter’s softball team and going to games – she never missed one. She later went on to a career in real estate and moved back to Hackensack NJ where she made many new friends and and once again found herself enjoying time by the pool! She loved her family deeply and spent many years caring for her grandchildren and making wonderful memories. From attending their games, to taking them on modeling auditions, she was a constant presence in their lives. She also loved spending time with the Ognibene family of which she became an honorary member.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 12:30 PM at St. Pius X RC Church, Old Tappan, NJ with interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery, Englewood, NJ.

Raymond Michael Argenti, 67, of Forestburgh, NY, formerly of Middletown, NY and Northvale, NJ, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025. Beloved son of the late Raymond and Barbara Argenti. Proud father of Laura Argenti and her fiancé Patrick Galligan and Joseph Argenti. Beloved grandfather of Ariella. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Dan and Laurie Argenti, Caesar and Kit Argenti, Kathy and James Sajban and Pam and Russell Carpanini. Loving uncle of Lea, Melissa, James, Chante’, Mark, Andrew and Alex. Also survived by his sweet dog, Dotty.

Ray was a master carpenter and his expert craftsmanship can be found throughout New York and New Jersey. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved the outdoors and had a passion for cooking and entertaining friends at his home in Forestburgh.

Felisa Chan, 97, of River Vale, NJ, passed away on Saturday,March 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 24, 1927 in La Paz, Leyte Province, Philippines. Beloved and devoted wife of the late Benito Chan Sr. Cherished mother of Corazon and husband Raphael Sr., Benito Jr. and wife Gladys, Alvin and wife Fe, Allan and wife Lulut, Allen and wife Ada, Alex and wife Miriam, Elizabeth and husband Scott, Albert and wife BeeHui, Grace, and Margaret. Proud grandmother of Raphael Jr., Lynnanne, Joanne and husband Ramil, Nitoy and wife Arlene, Mark, Mary, Ciara, Michael Allan and wife Darlene, Cheryl and husband Tony, Lesley and husband Silvio, Allan Jr., Brian, Jamie, Tracy, Kim and husband Fabiano, Warren, Howie, Michael David and wife Samantha, Lawrenceand wife Daisy, Rachel and husband Chandler, Elaine, and Alessandra. Adored great grandmother of Trisha, Hannah, Matthew and wife Alyza, Mia Lynn, Riley Anne, Kelsey, Gabriel, Mia Anne, Lorenzo and Mackenzie. Felisa is also survived by her dear sisters Paulita Chang and husband Gordon, Lilia Tieng and Carmen Cua, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Felisa’s love for adventure took her to many places around the world. She travelled all over Europe, Australia and Asia. She especially loved Spain and Israel. She was very active in the Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League. She petitioned the late Monsignor Velasco and campaigned to Monsignor Velasco to start the one and only Chinese Catholic School named Sacred Heart School in Tacloban City Philippines. This helped convert a lot of the Chinese community to the Catholic faith thru their children. She also loved gardening and especially loved her orchids and rose garden. She also loved to cook and bake where she won first prize at a prestigious baking contest. This eventually led to her starting a successful catering business. When she was in grade school, she was not allowed to finish school because she was a girl. Her tenacity and drive made this dream a reality after having 10 children. She went back to school and graduated with a college degree cum laude. She truly was a great role model for all.  This is just one of many reasons why we are all so very proud to call her Mom.

Joseph P. Scaglione, 101, of Norwood, NJ, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025. Born December 7, 1923 in Norwood, NJ to Dominick and Theresa (nee Chiafulio) Scaglione. Joe was a kind and compassionate person, who loved to work in his flower and vegetable gardens.

Joe was drafted in to the United States Army Air Force in 1943 and served his country until April 1945. His squadron was to fly missions  in Germany during WWII and it was there that his plane was shot down and he was captured by the Germans and became a POW in Moosburg, Germany from January 1945 to April 1945. He received the Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, the POW Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the European Middle Eastern Campaign with 3 Bronze Stars, the American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. When he returned home he opened his own business in Landscape Gardening and retired in 1986 in his hometown on Norwood, NJ.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Irene (nee Hinsen) Scaglione, his sisters, Rose Scaglione, Minnie Maiorano and Connie Capobianco, and brothers, Dominick Scaglione, Philip Scaglione and John “Sharkey” Scaglione. He is survived  by many loving nieces and nephews.

Norberta Camacho (nee Orellana), 96, of the Bronx, was called home to the Lord on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Manuel Camacho. Cherished mother of Bertha Camacho-Ocon, Dori Camacho, Evelyn Camacho and Mirna Padilla. Loving sister of Felipe Orellana, Ana Rodriguez and the late Rafael Orellana, Elias Orellana, Eduvije Orellana, Vicente Orellana, Maxmino Orellana, Martina Orellana, Marta Moreno, Josefina Martinez and Carmen Gloria Ocasio. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
