Norma R. Paillex

Norma R. Paillex(nee Kohler), 77, of Northvale, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014. She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Louis Paillex.  Loving mother of Bruce Paillex of New York City and Lisa Paillex Griffin of Franklin Park. Dear grandmother of David and Marc.  She is also survived by dear cousin Barbara Stingle Abraham, a brother Werner Kohler, and other loving relatives and friends. Visiting hours are Wednesday 5-8PM at the Pizzi Funeral Home,120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050). A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday October 2, 2014 at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 171 Closter Dock Road, Closter, NJ, with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Parkinson’s Action Network ‘s (PAN) “Forum Scholarship Fund” at  www.parkinsonsaction.org.

John “Jack” Maloney

John “Jack” Maloney, 79, of Tappan, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee Smith).  Loving father of Anne Bondulich and husband John of Tappan and John Maloney and wife Kathy of Orangeburg.  Cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Kellyanne, John Patrick, Jack, Ryan and Allison.  Dearest brother of Michael Maloney of Pearl River. He was also adored by his many nieces and nephews.

Jack was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a Detective for the New York City Police Department for 20 years before retiring.  He later became a security manager for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Piermont.

Jack loved fine art and travel, especially to Paris. His favorite place was Naples, Florida where he spent many wonderful years with his family watching the sunset.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart RC Church, Tappan with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Pizzi Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050).

Donations to the New York Police and Fire Widows and Children’s Benefit Fund, www.answerthecall.org, in Jack’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

Sinead Helen Murphy

Sinead Helen Murphy, age 11, of Orangeburg, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Cherished daughter of Stephen and Susan Murphy.  Adored sister of Fiona, Siobhan and Colleen.  Loving granddaughter of Maurice and Helen Murphy and Bridie and the late Tom Davis. Beloved niece of many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends both in the United States, Ireland and England.  She will also be dearly missed by all the wonderful nurses, doctors and medical staff that have been there for her in times of need.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00 AM at St. Aedan’s RC Church, Pearl River with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-9 PM at the Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ  201-767-3050.

Helen Lewis

LEWIS, Helen (nee Drew) of Melbourne FL, formally of Norwood passed away on Sunday, Sep. 14, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Jack H. Lewis, who died on Feb. 9, 2014. Beloved sister of Marge Drew and her husband Artie and the late William Drew, both of New Milford. Loving mother of Patricia Sims, Robert Lewis, both of Melbourne FL and Jack W. Lewis of Bergenfield.  Adored grandmother of three and great-grandmother of three. Date of memorial service to be announced.

Daniel Butler

Daniel Butler, 79, died Saturday September 6, 2014 at NYU Langone Medical Center with family & loved ones by his side.

 

He was born on July 4, 1935 in New York City, son of the late Marie and Paul Butler. Daniel was the youngest of six children, Marguarite Durkee-Niehaus, Paul Butler, Michael Butler, Rosemarie McGettigan, and Ann Stisser. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary, & their five children; Sharon Nulty, Sabrina Durrigan (husband Wayne), Denise Catalano (husband Carmine), Danny Butler, & Jennifer Laurent (husband David.) He was the proud papa of eight grandchildren; Danielle & Brendan Nulty; Jeffery & Alyssa Durrigan; Valerie, Melanie & Kristie Catalano; Jaden Laurent; & his beloved dog Fluffy.

 

Daniel served in the US Navy from 1952-1956, serving in the Korean War. He was an ornamental ironworker for Local 580, NY, NY, helping to build many of our most cherished landmarks. He also served as a proud member of the Elks Lodge #877. Daniel enjoyed life to the fullest, spending his time surrounded by family & friends. He delighted in visiting his home in Florida, boating, & being actively involved with his church.

 

Services honoring Daniel will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home 120 Paris Ave Northvale, NJ 07647 on Tuesday September 9, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-9. Funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine’s Church in Blauvelt, NY on Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 10am.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.

 

Daniel radiated a powerful light with a passion for living & strength beyond recognition. He will be missed greatly by all those who have been blessed to know him.
