Christopher P. Favata, 64, of River Vale, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014. Beloved son of the late Frank and Julia. Loving brother of Eleanor Bickford of Ocala, FL, Alicia and John Nemec of Cooperstown, NY, Nina Favata of Ridgewood, Julia Ruth of Warwick, NY and Joseph Favata of Nyack, NY. Cherished uncle of Christopher, Carly, Erika, Sarah, Frank and Christine. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Chris was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star. He was the Commander of Norwood American Legion Post 272. Before retiring Chris was a steamfitter in NYC.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 9:30 AM at St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY. Visiting hours are Monday 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050).
