Thomas R. Tate, 78, of Norwood, passed away at home on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Beloved husband of Nancy E. Shannon-Tate (nee Capasso). Loving father of T.R. and his wife Shannon of River Vale, Travis and his wife Paula of Norwood, Veronica Melissas and her husband John of Oakland and Joseph of Florham Park. Adored grandfather of Ariana, Tommy, Katrina, Samantha, Anthony and Annabelle. Dear step-father of Joseph Shannon, Robert Shannon and wife Doreen, Nancy Quinn and husband Frank, Patricia Dimataris and Michael Shannon and wife Jennifer. Cherished step-grandfather of Frank, Kerry, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Alexis, Brendan, Jack, Nicholas and Joseph. Loving brother of Nancy Kaloostian and husband Dennis of Spring Lake.
Tom was the founder of Tate and Sons Plumbing and Heating, and always provided “service with a smile” for over 37 years.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 10:00 AM at Our lady of the Sacred Heart RC Church, Tappan with interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery, Englewood. Visiting hours are Monday 2-4 and 6-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050).
