Antonio Velazquez, II, 50, of Northvale, formerly of Union City, NJ passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Beloved husband of Anna D’Emilio. Predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Iraida Velazquez, and stepfather Gil Francisco. Loving brother of Carlos Velazquez and his wife Evelyn, and sister Iris Negron and her husband Edward. Dearest son-in-law of Maria D’Emilio and the late Antonio, and brother-in-law of Carmine and Christine D’Emilio, Lena D’Emilio and fiancé Joseph Durante, and Diana and Stephen Zondorak. Adored uncle of Jason, Victoria, Layla, Brandon, Adam, Austin, Steven and Abigail. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be dearly missed by his dog & buddy, Cesar the Great.
Antonio was a US Army Veteran and a graduate of La Salle Academy and Fairleigh Dickenson University. He worked for New York Life as an insurance agent. He enjoyed Kung Fu, collecting comic books, was a political science, music, science fiction and sports car enthusiast, and enjoyed supporting his favorite teams, the New York Mets and the New England Patriots.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 9:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Northvale, NJ with entombment to follow at Mount Hope Mausoleum, Hastings-On-Hudson, NY. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. (201-767-3050).
