George F. Scolaro, 80, of Orangeburg, formerly of the Bronx,passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Beloved husband of Maria (nee Gambino). Cherished father of Christopher and his wife Lisa of Garnerville, Lauren Phillips and her husband Brian of Tuxedo and Jean Marie Scolaro of Congers. Adored grandfather of Isabella, Ava, Christina, Davis and Peyton. Dearest brother of Helen, Deanna and the late Mary, Vivian and Frances.
George was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Before retiring he was a data processing manager for the Salvation Army in West Nyack. George was a parishioner of St. Catharine’s Church and a member of the Order of the Sons of Italy Lodge 2176, both in Blauvelt.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10:00 AM at St. Catharine’s RC Church, Blauvelt with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill. Visiting hours are Saturday 3-5 PM and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ (845-359-2323).
