Daniel F. Flannery

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Daniel F. Flannery, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 17, 1939, in the Bronx, New York, Daniel (Dan) was the son of Grace and John Flannery. Dan was also the younger brother of his sibling Jack Flannery. He is most remembered for his love for his wife, family, friends and of course, the New York Yankees.

Dan graduated from Cardinal Hayes high school, attended Hunter College and was a United States Navy veteran. Subsequently, Dan worked with his brother, Jack, at JJ. Flannery Sheet Metal Inc. and then went off on his own to be co-owner of GSI Inc. Mechanical Contracting in Manhattan. Dan had a love for life and family that few will ever know. He relished meeting new people, traveling (especially cruising) and sharing life’s experiences with family and friends.

Dan was an incredibly hard worker and successful businessman, He was also a great athlete, exceling at every sport, including basketball, golf and especially soft ball, which he played at a competitive level until age 55. Most importantly, he made friends everywhere he went including in Rockland County where he lived and Fort Lauderdale, FL., where he eventually retired.

Dan is survived by his loving wife Lillian, children Corrine, Jim and Danny and his five grandchildren, Joseph, Danny, Chris, Briana and Aiden.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, July 30th, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart RC Church, Tappan, NY.
