Richard Francis Harm

Richard Francis Harm, 75, of Northvale, NJ, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 14, 2026.  Beloved husband of Barbara (née DiFabio).  Loving father of Janine and her partner Adam, and Lauren Ritter and her husband Brian.  Caring and loving “Gramps” of Olivia, Juliette, and Charlie.  Proud brother of Raymond Harm and his wife Vicki. Beloved brother-in-law, uncle, and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Frances Harm, and his brothers, Michael and David Harm.

Rich was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, as well as a member of the Closter American Legion.  He spent over 40 years working in sanitation, first with DiRese & Sons, then Allied Waste, and retired from Waste Management as a route supervisor in 2016.

He enjoyed watching sports and was a passionate Green Bay Packers fan. He could often be found cheering and yelling at the TV on Sunday afternoons in the fall. In the spring and summer, he followed the New York Yankees.

He loved spending time at his cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, where he gained a second family at the Deepwood Lodges complex. He spent countless hours fishing on the lake and was happiest when teaching his grandchildren the art of fishing.

He was a devoted and loving husband and father. He volunteered his time to coach his daughters’ basketball and softball teams when they were growing up and never missed an important event. To his family and friends, he was known for giving detailed directions to any place in Bergen County.

Above all, he loved his wife, daughters and grandchildren.

Visiting hours are Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 4-7 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, Closter, NJ.
