Mary Gioia

  Mary Gioia (nee Benowitz) 95, of Haworth, formerly of  Englewood Cliffs, passed away
peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 28, 2011.                    .  
She is the devoted mother of John and his wife Judy of Rutherford, Louis and his wife Jane of Haworth and William of Toms River. She was predeceased by her husband Louis, her dear brothers, Bernie and Benny, her sister Kazia, and her daughter Joan Bochese.
She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-granchildren, nephews and nieces.

Concetta “Tina” McSweeney

   Concetta “Tina” McSweeney (nee Senna), 86, of Monroe, NY, formerly of Bergenfield, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011.  Beloved wife of Leo J.  Devoted mother of Thomas and his wife Cynthia (nee DeGloria) of Norwood and Nancy Biscottini of Middletown, NY.  Adored grandmother of Michele, Christine, Ryan, Kyle, and Sean and great-grandmother of Justin and Conor.

Marion G. Ruggieri

   Marion G. Ruggieri(nee Caruth), 78, of Northvale, passed away at home on Monday, October 24, 2011.  Beloved wife of the late Thomas.  Loving mother of Gail Ruggieri of Northvale, Thomas R. and his wife Lisa of Hillsdale and Robert of Park Ridge.  Cherished grandmother of Dominick, Kristen, Michael, Matthew and Gianna.

Charlotte Ihrig

   Charlotte Ihrig (nee Sieron), 79, of Northvale, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011.  Beloved wife of the late Richard.  Cherished mother of Sharon Bieszard and her husband Peter of Midland Park, Richard Ihrig of Northvale, Lorna Scully and her husband Tom of Montvale and Charlene LeMoine of Ridgewood.  Adored grandmother of Andrew, Matthew, Michael, Brian, Alexander and Kevin.

   Charlotte was a wonderful and caring mom to her 4 children and doting grandma to her six grandsons.  She always made time to share in their accomplishments. 

   She loved to attend sporting events, musical concerts or plays that they were a part of showing her support.  She even took on technology to keep in touch with them via email.

   Charlotte was a past president of the Northvale Golden Age club.  She enjoyed organizing trips and social events for the group.  She thoroughly enjoyed “girls” getaways, dinners, movies and chat sessions with her Northvale special friends. She was a friend to many both young and old and will be greatly missed by all that came to know and love her and her generous caring ways.

David P. Moncalieri

   David P. Moncalieri, 56, of Harrington Park, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011.  Beloved husband of Irene (nee Molchanoff).  Devoted father of Anthony and Andrew.  Loving uncle of Amy and Dave Fisher and Dawn and Nick Simons.  Dearest nephew of Aunt Hannah and Aunt Doats.  He will also be dearly missed by many cousins, relatives and friends.

   David worked for FedEx for over 30 years.

Maria Pulice

   Maria Pulice, age 64, of Harrington Park, New Jersey, passed away Friday morning, September 30, 2011, in Englewood Hospital.  Born and raised in New York, Maria moved to New Jersey in 1981.  Maria was a dedicated teacher with the Fort Lee School System for 42 years.  She also served tirelessly as the President of the Fort Lee Education Association.  She earned many accolades during her education career including Teacher of the Year.  She will be remembered as a loving and caring person.  Maria was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Pulice.  She was the devoted mother of Derek Pulice, of Harrington Park, and dear sister of Camille Mailman of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, Valerie Guido of Naples, Florida, and John Battiato of San Antonio, Texas.  Maria is also survived by 9 nieces, 6 nephews, 5 great nieces and 7 great nephews.  The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM on Tuesday at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, New Jersey (www.pizzifuneralhome.com).  A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at 11 AM on Wednesday at the Anthony R. Gustave V. Brunet

   Gustave V. Brunet, 81, of Norwood, on Thursday, September 22, 2011.   Beloved husband of Marilyn F.  Loving father of Gustave J. and his wife Jennifer of Harrington Park, Gary J. and his wife Aparna of Alameda, CA, Glenn J. and his wife Katherine of Northvale and Gregg J. of Norwood.  Adored grandfather of James, Alexandra, Suhani and Courtney.

   Mr. Brunet was a US Navy veteran.  After retiring from Con Edison, where he worked for 40 years, he was a Norwood crossing guard, volunteered at Spectrum for Living in Closter and enjoyed attending Norwood borough meetings.

Herschel L. Mosier, Jr.

   Herschel L. Mosier, Jr., 80, of Rockleigh, formerly of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011.  Loving husband of the late Sharon.  Dearest brother of Edson Mosier and his wife Mary Jane of Harrington Park and Molly Mosier of Boston, MA.  Loving uncle of many nieces, nephews, grand-neices and grand-nephews.  He will also be dearly missed by all at the Bergen County Health Care facility who became his family.

Richard H. Vickerman

   Richard Vickerman, 75, of Palisades, died September 5, 2011 at his home after a long illness.  

   Richard was born in Manhattan to the late Robert and Rita Vickerman.   He attended Murray Hill Vocational High School and served in the United States Army in Panama. It was during his time in the military that he married his wife of fifty-two years, Carole (nee Romer).

   Richard, a Master Plumber, was a proud member of the Plumber’s Union in New York City for over fifty years. He also served with distinction on the Orangetown Parks Advisory Committee and the Parks Development Advisory Committee.

   He is survived by his wife Carole; daughter Lynn Bulla, of Schenectady, New York; daughter Melinda Vickerman-Lalaoui and husband, Alex, of Bayonne, New Jersey; and his five grandchildren, Jesse, Devin, Emily, Reyhan and Sharif.  Richard was predeceased by his two sons, Robert and Steven Vickerman and son-in-law Thomas Bulla.

   The family will receive friends Thursday, September 8, from 10  AM to 12 Noon with a funeral service to be held at 11:30 at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ. www.pizzifuneralhome.com.

   Richard will be laid to rest alongside of his beloved sons at the Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, New York.

George D. Cattabiani

   George Cattabiani, age 82, of Northvale, passed away peacefully on Aug 31, 2011, with his son Joseph by his side.  Beloved husband of the late Amelia Cattabiani.  Beloved father of George Jr, Nancy, and Joseph.  Loving grandfather of Amy, Cassie and Joey Jr.

   He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, and was honorably discharged in December 1952.  He attended New York University, NYC, and graduated with a degree in mechanical drafting.  He worked for Meyer Strong and Jones in NYC for over 30 years, and was the head for their elevator division.  George designed and oversaw the installation of thousands of elevator projects throughout all of NYC and the country.  He served on the ASME A17.1 elevator and escalator committee and was also a member of the N.A.E.C, E.C.N.Y, N.A.V.T.P.  After retiring from Meyer Strong and Jones in June of 1987, George and his son, George Jr, opened their own elevator consultant firm, and will be entering its 25th year.  George was very active in local politics and was councilman, borough council president, several times throughout 20 years in Northvale.  He also served as police commissioner.  George was a man of honor and integrity, and never held back on offering his advice.  He always spoke the truth and never backed down from any situation.

   George was a parishioner of the St. Anthony Church in Northvale.
