Anna Nuovo (nee Miscioscia), 86, of Tappan, passed away at home on Friday, August 28, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Natale. Devoted mother of Gino of Tappan, Rosanna Sfraga and her husband Nick of Tappan, Natale and his wife Christina of Monroe, Nicky of Tappan and Joseph and his wife Marilyn, also of Tappan. Cherished grandmother of Stephanie, Peter, Christopher, Cassandra, Vincent, Anthony, Carina, Joseph and Alex and loving great-grandmother of Jadon. Dearest sister of Frank Miscioscia of Port Washington, Long Island.

Anna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved cooking and providing for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart RC Church, Tappan with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050).

George C. Leocata

George Charles Leocata, 87, of Norwood for 56 years, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 26, 2015.  George is predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years Marjorie J (nee Paccione) and his dear grandson Michael and granddaughter Courtney.  Devoted father of Gina Hennessey and her deceased husband Gerry of Norwood, Stephen and his wife Lisabeth of Oakland, George and his wife Eileen of Norwood, Susan Sullivan and her husband Timothy of Norwood, and Michael and his wife Mary, also of Norwood.  Adored grandfather of Stephen, George, K.C., Daniel, Nicole, Emily, Lauren, Ashley, Ryan and Mason.  Loving brother-in-law of Carmel and Herman Dreichler of Tamarac, FL, Joan Paccione of Norwood and Michael and Marie Paccione of Toms River.

George was an adoring husband and father. His family meant everything to him. Born and raised in Greenwich Village by his parents, Vito and Anna Leocata, George was a graduate of Commerce High School. He served in the military from 1945 -1947. He and his wife Marjorie met while working at Zenith Radio Corporation in NYC. After getting married in 1953, they lived in Bergenfield and Greenwich Village and finally settled in Norwood in 1959. After working many years at Zenith as an audiologist and hearing aid salesman, George became President of Zenex Hearing Aids. He was also an accomplished furniture upholsterer and drapery maker. He enjoyed vacationing with his family. Most of all, George loved being with Marjorie, his children and grandchildren.

Louise M. Bowling

Louise M. Bowling (nee Lanzalotta), 79, of Harrington Park, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Edward. Cherished mother of Maryann Cassidy of San Anselmo, CA and Lisa Getzow of Harrington Park. Adored grandmother of Nolan, Michael and Andrew.

Louise was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed the years she spent as librarian for the Harrington Park Public Library. She will be dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 29 at 3 PM at the Community Church of Harrington Park, 1 Spring Street, Harrington Park. Burial was private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Church of Harrington Park, designated for the “Foundation”, in memory of Louise Bowling.

Kit Yuk Ng Li_Hsu, 95, of Flushing, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Beloved mother of Diana Li Lim and her late husband Boon Tock of Western Australia, Sylvia Li Kan and her husband David of Palos Verdes, CA, Ronald Li and his wife Mabel of Northvale and Peter Li of Cleveland, OH. Beloved grandmother of six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Fook Fai Li, her second husband Konrad Hsu and her granddaughter, Veronica Li.

Louis W. Maio, Sr.

Louis W. Maio, Sr., 89, of Stony Point, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015. Beloved husband of Wilma R. (nee Robertson). Cherished father of Louis, Jr. and his wife Elisa of Stony Point, Christine Wimbert and her husband Paul of West Nyack and Kelli Ann Sules and her husband John of Orangeburg. Adored grandfather of 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dearest brother of Emily Patton and Evelyn Maio. Predeceased by his loving parents Giuseppe and Giovanna.

Louis was a World War II Veteran of the US Army, having served in the Philippines with the Armored Tank Division. He retired from Lucent Technologies as a foreman, beginning his career with NY Telephone which became NYNEX. After retiring, he volunteered to repair cassettes for the “Talking Book Program for the Blind” in Denver, CO.

Theresa Johnston

Theresa Johnston, of Ortley Beach, formerly of New Milford, was born on March 24, 1927 and passed away into eternal peace on August 1, 2015. Terry was the beloved wife of the late Robert Johnston. Devoted mother of Gary Johnston and his wife Louise, Robert Johnston and his wife Joann, and Patricia Sheehan and her husband Terry. Adored grandmother of four; Iris, Jennifer, Nicole, and Robert. She was pre-deceased by a son Roy. Terry spent her retirement years at her hideaway in Ortley Beach. She enjoyed her many card games with her close friends and visits from her grandchildren on weekends, along with frequent trips to Atlantic City to play her favorite game of craps. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Church in Northvale with interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Darlington.
