KASBARIAN, James Minas, 83, of Northvale, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.  Beloved husband of Frances (nee Papazian).  Devoted father of James A. and his wife Linda of Maybrook, NY, Greg and his wife Beth of Midland Park and Rudy Pajooh and his wife Danette of Hasbrouck Heights. Cherished grandfather of Andrew, Bailey, Dana, Julia, Chloe, Avery and Isabella.  Dearest brother of William and his wife Rose of Wanaque and Frederick and his wife Barbara of Newtown, CT.  He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

James was a USMC Korean War Veteran.   Besides his love of family, he particularly enjoyed cheering for the NY Rangers.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday 10:00 AM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.  Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Benedetto “Salvatore” Ribaudo

Benedetto “Salvatore” Ribaudo, 76, of Norwood, formerly of the Bronx, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.  Beloved husband of Maria (nee Valore).  Loving father of Cristina Fanelli and her husband Frank A. Fanelli of Norwood and cherished grandfather of Anthony and Francesca.  Dearest brother of Maria Ribaudo, Rosa Lombardo and her husband Biagio, Nunziata Ribaudo, Grazia Ribaudo and Alfredo Ribaudo and his wife Maria. Devoted uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Sal was a retired Arthur Avenue chef at Ann and Tony’s Ristorante, in the Bronx.  Upon moving to New Jersey he enjoyed gardening and was a crossing guard in Norwood. He loved being surrounded by his family and watching the New York Yankees.

Leonard Borgognone

Leonard Borgognone,  ”Lenny Bandana”, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2014.  Loving fiancé of Mary Ellen Wiernasz of Avon, NJ and “dad” to Audra Borgia, brother of Marie Borgognone of Bergenfield, and father of Mark.  Lenny is also survived by his cousins, Garrett and Margie Giles, Richard and Diane Salvatore, and his best friends, James and Michelle Benasillo, as well as other loving relatives and friends.  He will be dearly missed by his co-workers and the clients that he always made happy.  Lenny was a very talented hair stylist (long hair specialist!) at Salon S in Northvale.  A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Community Gospel Church, 430 Birchwood Road, Northvale, NJ. Rose Marie Scarpaci

Rose Marie Scarpaci (nee Esposito), 65, a longtime resident of Orangeburg, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014.  Beloved wife of Guy for 44 years.  Devoted mother of Anthony and his wife Holli of Las Vegas, NV, Julie Blauvelt and her husband Rich, Jr. of Washingtonville, Joseph and his wife Jana of Sugarloaf and Angela Plump and her husband Garrett of Maywood, NJ.  Adored grandmother of Tristyn, Lisa Rose, Anthony, Lily, Joseph, Brooke, Thomas and Veronika.  She is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Rose Marie was a teacher for the New York City Public School System and was also a substitute teacher in Pearl River.  She was a parishioner of St. Catharine’s RC Church, Blauvelt.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00 AM at St. Catharine’s with interment to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet.  Visiting hours are Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, NJ.

Constance Seter

SETER, Constance, 95, passed away on April 27, 2014.

Constance was born in Gardner, MA.  After living in the Chicago, IL area, she was a long-term resident (over 44 years) of Norwood, NJ. She spent her final years in assisted living at Sunrise in Cresskill, NJ.

Constance spent her career working in various professional jobs, and raising her sons, Doug and Dave. When her husband Clifford retired, she continued to work part-time in the Norwood Public Library. After retiring from the library at age 80 she enjoyed lunch gatherings with former employees and other long-term residents of the Norwood area. She and her friends became known as the “Bookbags”, commemorating their professional association and their enjoyment of reading. Constance also participated in activities at the Northvale, NJ McGuire Senior Center.

Underneath her quiet demeanor was a deeply passionate love for family and friends. She prided herself on bestowing happiness on others, on a daily basis.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Clifford Seter; her sister, Lenora Martin, and her brother, Steve Civas. She is survived by her sons Doug Seter of Escondido, CA and Dave Seter of Petaluma, CA.

Services and internment were held at the Saron Lutheran Church, Erskine, MN.

Edward Benyo

Edward Benyo, 86, of Northvale, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.  Beloved brother of Raymond.  Ed is also survived by his loving cousins, Marjorie Peterson, Gail Hartigan and Betty Day, his dear friend Bob Jollimore, as well as other cherished family and friends.

Ed was a US Army veteran of WWII.

John J. O’Connor

John J. O’Connor, 90, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of Northvale, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014.  Beloved husband of Anna O’Connor (nee Verni).  Cherished uncle of Robert and Lynn.  Dear brother of the late Daniel.  He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

John was a US Navy veteran of WWII.  He was a member of the Northvale VFW and the Deerfield Beach, FL American Legion.  He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus St. Mary’s Council 3679 in Closter for many years.  Before retiring, John worked for A & P in Elmsford, NY.

Donald E. Lizotte

Donald E. Lizotte, 64, of Harrington Park, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.  Beloved husband of the late Kim Lizotte.  Devoted father of Travis of West Milford, Tracy of Emerson and Ashley Plescia and her husband Michael of Harrington Park.  Adored grandfather of Marshall and Madison.  Dearest brother of Eugene of Leonia, Lorraine Delling of Old Tappan, Walter of FL, Paul of RI, Roland of Demarest, Irene Bertero of FL and the late Alice, Robert and Raymond.  Donald is also survived by his girlfriend Doreen Bartash as well as his niece Donna Pulsonetti, sister-in-law Karen May, and a large extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Don retired from a lifelong career as an electrician from the IBEW Local 3 NYC. He loved fishing, cars, and riding his quad. He loved spending time at his farm house in upstate New York with his family. His favorite times were those spent with his beautiful grandchildren. His was known for his colorful personality and always good for a laugh.

Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 6:30-9 PM at the Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale. A Funeral Service will be held during the evening hours.
