Ann M. Benardelli (nee Claps), 99, of Northvale, formerly of the Bronx, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Cherished mother of Carolyn Di Meglio and her husband Joseph of Northvale. Loving grandmother of John Di Meglio and wife Taylor of Warwick, NY and Kara Gee and husband Doug of Northvale. Adored great-grandmother of Addie, Amarie, Kaleigh and Kristin. She was predeceased by her husband Rocco Benardelli and brothers, Ludwig and Frank Claps.

Ann was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She worked in the garment industry in NYC for many years and was a “fitter to the stars”, working with many famous celebrities.

Emily T. Patten (nee Maio), 88, of Tappan, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Patten. Loving mother of son, Joseph W. of Tappan and daughter, Bernadette Gaglione and her husband Joseph of Orangeburg. Adored grandmother of Joseph Ryan and Michael. Dearest sister of Evelyn Maio and predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.

Emily was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had been a supervisor at BSR in Blauvelt for many years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ (201-767-3050). A funeral service to be held at 10:30 AM with interment to follow at F.W. Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, New Hempstead.

Charles L. Albanese, 97, born and resided in Northvale his entire life, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 19, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Agnes (nee Buonocore). Cherished father of Diane Duncan and husband Mitchell of Rockwood, ME, Michele Albanese of Northvale and Leonard Albanese and wife Grayce of Northvale. Adored grandfather of Leo Albanese and wife Meaghan of Littleton, CO and Charles Albanese of Northvale. Dearest brother of Grace Tirelli of Closter, Joseph of Northvale, Leonard of Closter and the late Antoinette Hallahan and Anthony. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Charles was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II serving with the 318th Fighter Group on Saipan and was a proud member of the American Legion for 62 years. He, along with his brothers, owned Albanese Brothers Contracting which they began in 1945 and operated for over fifty years. After retiring Charles worked at the Rockleigh Golf Course for 22 years as ranger and starter. He served his community in many ways over the years; as a member of the Northvale Planning Board and serving for a time as its chairman, as Northvale Building Inspector, as a dedicated parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church, as a member of the Lions Club International, founding member of the Northvale Rod and Gun Club and as life member of the Northvale Volunteer Fire Department.

Mkrtich Tahmizian, 94, of Paramus, passed away at the Armenian Home on Thursday, May 12, 2016.  Beloved husband of the late Voski.  Loving father of Abram, Cirush and Armen.  Adored grandfather of five grandchildren.

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Ilich Ovrutsky, 80, of Congers, NY, who passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Beloved husband of Margarita Ovrutsky. Loving father of Irina and husband Dimity Trembitsky, and Paulina and husband Eric Wienckowski. Adored grandfather of Max, Danny, Julia and Sophia.
Ilich will be forever remembered as a devoted husband, kind father, grandfather, brother, uncle and thoughtful friend. He always enjoyed fishing with his friends or tinkering with new gadgets in his garage. But most of all, Ilich loved spending time with his family and who can forget his legendary toasts! His positive attitude and optimistic outlook on life have touched us all. He will truly be missed.

Florence Daher (nee Gulino), 83, of Hackensack, NJ and Nanuet, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Beloved wife of the late George. Loving mother of Carol and George Papalambros of Tappan, Donna Kotcher of Milford, PA and the late Joseph Daher. Adored grandmother of Stephanie Kotcher Della-Vecchia and her husband William; Christina, Kaitlynn, Alexander, and Victoria Papalambros; and the late Kevin Kotcher and Gregory Papalambros. Cherished great-grandmother of Christopher and Alexis Della-Vecchia. Dearest sister of Mary Guterl and the late Bill, Joe, John, Rose Iozio and Frances Cielo. Also predeceased by her cousin, Tony Urato.

Florence was a secretary for Wright Aeronautics in Wood-Ridge, NJ for many years before retiring.

Angela Fucci (nee Conti), 98, of Harrington Park, formerly of Fairview, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Carl. Loving mother of John Fucci and his wife Linda of Harrington Park and Carl of Oradell. Cherished grandmother of Tara Savino and husband Joseph of Old Tappan and Jon-Paul Fucci and wife Kimberly of Hillsdale. Adored great-grandmother of Sophia, Lea, Emily and Nicole. Dearest sister of Anna Saltalamacchia and Eugene Conti. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Bart, Frank, Anthony, John, William and Joseph.

Angela will be remembered for her love of God and family as well as her amazing cooking. She will be dearly missed.

Dorothy Ann Shafer (nee Everson), 80, of Dunnellon, FL, formerly of Hillsdale and Northvale, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016. Beloved wife of Ralph for 65 years this July. Devoted mother of Linda Ettinger and husband Harold of El Paso, TX, Robin Shafer of Greenwood Lake, NY, Mary Saffert and husband Duke of Old Tappan and Charles Shafer of West Kingston, RI. Adored grandmother of Michael Saffert, Daniel Saffert and wife Natalie, Meaghann Shafer, Abraham Ettinger and Benjamin Ettinger. Dearest sister of Madeline Hart, Bernard and Carol Everson, Eileen Williams and sister-in-law Sue Everson. Predeceased by her sister, Barbara Yannucci, brother, Peter Everson and brother-in-law, George Williams.

Dorothy loved life, always ready to help friends and family. She loved a good party, the first and last on the dance floor. She will be always loved and missed by all.
