James Joseph Daly, 68, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born and raised in North Bergen, James later settled in Norwood, where he lived with his family for the past 23 years. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring brother, loving uncle, a loyal friend to many, and an amazing dog dad to Blue and Shea.
He will be missed by all of his coworkers at Bergen Community College and Trader Joe’s.
James was an avid sports fan, especially the New York Mets and New York Giants. He never missed the chance to cheer from the stands or the living room. He never missed any of Brendan and Megan’s school or sporting events. He also loved to travel.
He was also known for his quick wit and his love of old movies — often reciting favorite lines from movies 30 years ago even if his family had already heard them a hundred times. His humor, warmth, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
James leaves behind his wife Susan, children Brendan and Megan, sister Doreen (Gordon), many nieces and nephews, countless cousins, and lifelong friends. He was predeceased by his father James, mother Margaret and his mother-in-law Anna Mae.
We would like to thank everyone from Villa Marie Claire for the amazing care and compassion that was shown to Jim this past week.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Villa Marie Claire Hospice in James’ honor would be greatly appreciated.
A viewing will be held at Pizzi Funeral Home, Northvale, NJ on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 11:30am-1:30pm.
