Winifred “Winnie” Stavros (nee Goodwin), 87, of Northvale, NJ, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Stephen Stavros. Loving mother of James and wife Marybeth, Gregory and Steven and wife Paula. Proud grandmother of Kaitlin and her husband Drew, Samantha, Zachary, Steven and Nicholas. Cherished great-grandmother of Ophelia James. Dearest sister of the late Nora McGuiness, Martin Goodwin and Kay Broglie.
Winnie was a personnel director at Zenith Labs in Northvale for many years. She was an active member of the Northvale and Norwood Senior Centers.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 4-7 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Winnie’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.

So very sorry to hear this sad news. Such a lovely person . She will be missed by everyone that was lucky to know her.
One of the nicest people I have ever met. She always had a smile on her face. She had nothing but wonderful things to say. May she rest in peace and may her memory be eternal.
We miss you so much already, Grandma. The party that’s happening up there must be amazing! Knowing you’re now at peace, with Grandpa and the rest of your family and friends who have been waiting for you, is the greatest comfort.
I know you’re telling Grandpa how my dad, his “number 1 son,” was with you everyday for the past two years. And how he cared for you until the very end. I also know you’re both so proud of him.
Rest, now. We all love you so very much, always.
Mrs. S had a way of making people feel welcome. Whenever I saw her at
a family gathering, she carried herself with kindness, warmth, and
quiet generosity. She was the kind of person who seemed to know
something about everything, and she was always
willing to share her thoughts, her help, and her heart with the people
around her.
What stands out most is the love that surrounds her family. She loved
them deeply, and that love was returned in such a beautiful way. I saw
that especially through my dear brother-in-law, whose devotion to her
never wavered. He visited her every night, not out of obligation, but
out of pure love. That kind of dedication says so much about the bond
they shared and the kind of woman she was.
Her final years were not easy, but they do not define her life. She
should be remembered for her kindness and strength. We take comfort in
believing that she is now home, at peace, free from pain and
confusion, and reunited with her beloved Mr. S.
May she be remembered with love, gratitude, and the deep respect she deserves.
