May 5, 1949 – September 7, 2026
Tony Gianfrancesco entered into eternal rest on September 7, 2026 surrounded by his family. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle and friend.
Tony was born in Roccamandolfi, Italy and immigrated to America as a young child. His family settled in Norwood where he enjoyed a childhood playing sports and being mischievous with friends. As an adult, he joined Laborer’s Union Local 592 where he began his career as a laborer and later rose to the position of Business Agent. Tony spent 50 years as a union member where he worked among wonderful colleagues who became close friends.
Spending all his spare time with his family was most important to him, carrying on family traditions that were rooted early in his life – from making homemade sausage and wine to gardening and spending every holiday with those he loved. He also enjoyed golfing with friends, fishing and gardening.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Felicia and Antonio Gianfrancesco, his sister Maria D’Andrea and husband Giacomo, his sister Emilia Gianfrancesco, and his brother Giacomo Gianfrancesco. He is survived by his daughters Sara Marie Gianfrancesco and Monica, his sister Louisa Anastasi and husband Floro, sister-in-law Angelina Gianfrancesco, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who all adored him.
He will forever be missed and his memory will be eternally cherished.

- Funeral Mass: Friday, September 11, 10am, St. Anthony’s Church, Northvale
- Interment: Madonna Mausoleum, Fort Lee, NJ

Tony was a breath of fresh air in my life. A tremendously kind and generous person.

To a good friend and client for two decades. He spoke his mind plainly and focused on the important things. I will miss our annual golf outing and sharing a bottle of wine with you at your kitchen table as we discussed future plans.
Tony was Tony G. and I was Tony C. These names were given to us by Dan Sticco from Norwood Esso where we both worked once upon a time.
Tony and I hung out together and spent many weekends down in a Wildwood, N.J. with all of our friends.
He had a 65 Corvette and I had a 67 Corvette.
We would make record times from Norwood to Mokary’s Motel in Wildwood. We met up with some friends such as Russ Chianduse, Rick Sposa, Joe D’Ercole, and many others.
In the winter of 1966, Tony and I decided to take a vacation and drove down to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We had a blast for about 10 days.
Of recent years, I only saw him a few times a year. Mostly at a venison dinner in Northvale and sitting on his front porch, or at the old concrete table which my Grandfather built.
Tony lived in the house that my Grandfather and my uncles built back in the 1940’s. My Grandparents and Uncles family lived in the “Sposa House” until Tony’s parents bought it, I believe in the 1960’s.
I will miss my old friend.

Tony G , my friend . I first met him when he came over from Italy. We were both in fourth grade. I was in one class he was in another, but we got to be friends and was a nice connection between both of us. I would go over his house he would come over mine I would bring my grandmother Felicia over to talk to his mother Felicia, so they could speak to each other in Italian. Everybody in town knew who he was and even out of town is he was great in all sports and then when we grew older, we all had some nice hot rod cars from Corvette to Chevelle‘s to anything that had a big motor and we all were together atDanny Sticcos’ Esso station in Norwood. Then as we got even older, he kind of went his way. I went mine, but we still meet up someplace either at his house or someplace to have a drink together with other friends .To me. He was just one of a kind all you had to do was mention the name, Tony,G everyone knew who he was. He was a great friend.
