Thomas F. Rooney, of Orangeburg, NY, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026 at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 23, 1943 in Bronx,NY, Thomas was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Julia Rooney. He was a devoted husband, father, PopPop, brother, uncle and friend.
Thomas and his wife Sally were married for 59 wonderful years and had four children. He is survived by Sally (Lally), his children Brian (Jeanmarie McNally), Tom (Christine Lentini), Maura Wheeler, Sarah Kukla (Michael) and his 17 grandchildren Kieran (Leigh), Julia (Rob), Tess, Nolan, Finn, Tommy, Jack, Katie, Danny, Sarah, Kaleigh, Liam, Dylan, Kevin, Brendan, Declan and Kelly and many loving nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Julia, his brother Jimmy and his sister Margaret.
Family and friends may visit at Pizzi Funeral Home in Northvale, NJ on September 11 from 3:00-7:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30AM on September 12, 2026 at St. Catharines in Blauvelt, NY.
Tom will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who were blessed to know him.
