John Edward English, 84, of Northvale, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Beloved husband of Alice M (nee Stears). Loving father of James and wife Patricia of Warwick, NY, Joseph of Tappan, NY, John of Old Tappan and Alice Lyman and husband John of Tappan, NY. Cherished grandfather of Jimmy, Joseph, Michael, Sean, Haley, Lauryn and Maya. Dear brother of Lillian Marrone and the late Carmel Casella and Agnes English.
Mr. English was an iron worker and life member of Local 40 in NYC. He also worked for the NYC Dept. of Buildings. Eddie was born with a passion for boating. He especially enjoyed boating with his sons and grandchildren. Eddie thrived on and enjoyed his family to the fullest. He also enjoyed his afternoon table at Dunkin Donuts, where he will be dearly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 11 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Tappan with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050).
