Rita Ann Reid

   Rita Ann Reid(nee Gilles), 72, a longtime Northvale resident, died on Friday, August 5, 2011. Beloved wife of Thomas for 51 years.  Devoted mother of Robert and his wife Deborah of Bergenfield, Debra Reid of Elmwood Park, and the late Edward Reid.  Loving grandmother of Randall, Daniel, and Heather.    Mrs. Reid was an Administrative Assistant for the Presbyterian Church in Palisades, NY.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Demarest, past PTA president in the Northvale school system, and was also involved in the Northvale Recreation Program, especially girl’s softball.  She was active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years, and the recipient of the highest honor, The Silver Beaver. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, August 11 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church of Demarest with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.  Visiting hours are Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050). Those who wish may make donations to the United Methodist Church of Demarest, 109 Hardenburgh Avenue, Demarest, NJ  07627 in her memory.
