John A. Guercio

John A. Guercio, 85, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Born and raised in the Bronx, John was a 53 year resident of Norwood, NJ and was predeceased by the love of his life, Helen (nee Castellano). Devoted father of Anthony Guercio, Sr. and his wife Lisa. Proud grandfather of Anthony, Jr. and Gianna. Loving godfather of Theresa DeSisto.

John was a Licensed Registered Pharmacist. He owned Bald Eagle Pharmacy in West Milford and Paramus for many years. He also was the borough tax assessor for Norwood for 45 years and Northvale for 43 years. In his younger years he taught anatomy and physiology at Bergen Community College.  In addition, John also authored a book, “The Power of VI”, which he and his family were so very proud of.

John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. To sum up his life in 3 words: Family God Kindness. 

Visiting hours are Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 4-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 2, 2021 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Norwood with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.

    John I can’t believe I will never speak to you again. You were always like a father figure to me. I will miss our quarterly check ins to see how the families are doing. I know for a fact that you are at peace because you are back in the arms of Helen. May God Bless you both eternally.

  7. John was a man of integrity who served Norwood beyond the call of duty.When you visited John he would answer every question asked with warmth and made sure you understood the answer before you left his office.He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
