Anthony D. Altomare , “Curly”, 92, of Blauvelt, passed at home on Monday, April 25, 2022. Cherished husband of the late Dolores (nee Ambrosini). Devoted father of Philip, Anthony, Jr. and Diana. Proud grandfather of Philip, Jr., Anthony, Rocco, Nicholas, David, Dominic, Douglas and Dolores and great-grandfather of seven. Dearest brother of the late Lillian Romano and her husband Vincent and the late Gennaro Altomare. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Anthony was a proud US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a Detective 1st Grade for the NYPD before retiring and starting SIA Security Investigation which he operated for over 30 years. Anthony was a charter member and past president of the Sons of Italy Rockland Lodge 2176, Blauvelt, a parishioner of St. Catharine’s Church, Blauvelt, a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Church, NY, NY and a lifelong devotee of St. Felice.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, Apr. 27, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale (201-767-3050). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Apr. 28, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Catharine’s Church, Blauvelt. Interment Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill.
