Antoinette Rose Emering

On January 27. 2023 our beloved Mom, Antoinette, (Nettie) Rose Emering left this earth to receive her eternal reward with God. She passed away in peace after an incredibly long and fruitful life at the extraordinary age of 101. She was proceeded in death by her husband Edward John Emering, Jr and her beloved son Charles Anthony Emering. She leaves behind her 4 surviving children, her sons Edward John of Plano, Illinois, Anthony Vincent and his wife Janice of Livingston, NJ, Eugene Joseph and his wife Maria of Newton, NJ and daughter Carolyn Marie Young and her husband Alphonso of Closter, NJ. Some of her greatest joys were experienced with her 18 grandchildren at the Jersey Shore. She is also survived by 14 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. She would enjoy writing many stories about her adventures. Nettie’s second greatest joy was cooking for her family and friends whether it be breakfast with a hot cup of coffee or formal meals. Her home would be filled with clinking glasses and laughter. The driving force in her life was her commitment to her Catholic Faith which was the bedrock that formulated her decisions and drove her life forward. We will keep her in our hearts forever. She was a true treasure.

Nettie was a wonderful and dear friend for many years when she lived in Ortley Beach, rode on our carousel in Seaside Heights, and collected lighthouse miniatures in our gift shop on the boardwalk. She offered emotional support to me when my partner Elaine came down with Alzheimers and helped immeasurably with advice on caring for her. I shall miss her deeply and shall love her for always.

Rest in peace, Nettie. I’m so happy that I had the opportunity to know this happy, sincere and warm lady. She was such a beautiful person, both inside and out, and rewarded with such a long life. I offer my condolences to the family for their loss.
