Raúl R. Ruiz, 73, of Waldwick, NJ, formerly of the Bronx, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He is survived by his loving daughters; Amanda Ruiz, Heather Wall and her husband Eric, and Kimberlin Ruiz. Cherished grandfather of Dale and Abby. Loving brother of Carmen Ruiz. He is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Known to many close to him as “Paco”, Raúl was an MRI and X-Ray Technician for over 30 years at Pascack Valley Hospital until it closed, and thereafter worked at Clara Maas Medical Center. Raúl was born in Puerto Rico, where he spent summers as a child. Raúl enjoyed watching most (if not all) sports, and always had an opinion as to how the teams played and what they should do next time. He was a loyal fan to the New York Jets and New York Yankees. Raúl never missed an opportunity to tell anyone about a new place to eat they should try, and would travel near and far for his favorite restaurants.
He was a devoted father and grandfather. He will be missed.
Visiting hours are Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 10 AM – 12 Noon at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Raúl’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
Dear Friend Raul it has been some time since we sat and talked together, you willbe missed by me and many.
RIP. GOD BLESS
Raul was such a good friend. He was the one we could call about anything; the game that was playing, politics, the latest restaurant and news. He always had a quick wit to make us laugh and a shoulder if you needed it to feel better. He came to dinner each week and we went out many times. He loved his hot dogs and deserts, he loved Trader Joe’s and kept trying to get us to go there too. We are deeply saddened by this loss and will miss him terribly. How fortunate were we to have had him in our lives.. May he live forever in heaven wrapped in Gods eternal love. ThankYou dear friend until we meet again keep those hot dogs warm for us. Chuck and Jean
Dear Raul,
I am deeply saddened that you are no longer here on this earth, sharing in the love and joy of your Daughter’s, your son-in-law, your Granddaughter, other family members and those you called friend. I know how much you enjoyed life. You loved sports, a good meal, the holidays and being surrounded by family and friends, joking, laughing and relaxing amongst people who cared so much about you. If anyone enjoyed a good time, it was you. You had an amazing work ethic, and you loved your job in Radiology. You looked forward to going to work, and I know when you had to stop, that was rough on you. So, after a while of being retired, you took up crafts, much to the family’s surprise but, it shouldn’t have been because, you were always doing some project in the garage.
Although we sere separated for the last few years, we did remain friendly and on good terms. We have 2 amazing daughters together. And they are beautiful, and they are intelligent, and they are strong and caring human beings. They are everything parents hope for their children to be, and more. We are blessed, Raul, and I want to thank you. Thank you for your friendship, your love, your understanding and for our daughters and Granddaughter.
I will miss our talks, and it’s going to take sometime to realize that you have been called home. I hope there, carbs don’t count, and the Yankees and the Jets always win. ( well the Jets anyway).
Rest well and easy now. Listen to your music as loud as you like, and may you find peace and happiness in eternity.
Until we meet again…
Gail
