We are heartbroken. Biddy O Malley’s has been a restaurant our family has enjoyed for years. Noel treated us like family. Sending love and support to his whole family.

  5. I don’t have the words. I can’t say I was extremely close with Noel but I did work with him as a client when he sold his Englewood location. I knew that he had gotten sick towards the end of that deal but months later I had heard that he was in remission and doing very well. I saw him after that at this Northvale restaurant and he looked great. I guess you just never know what’s really going on inside a persons body. Really really sad to hear this news. Much peace, love and sympathy for his family and many loved ones.

  6. To the dear O’Malley family,
Such a wonderful person has left us too, too soon. Noel was the most amiable person, born to be a host.
My husband and I have been to your restaurant many times. Noel always welcomed us with his warm personality and kind smile. We send our deepest sympathy to your family and friends.

It was with great sadness that we read about Noel’s passing. Although we knew he wasn’t well, it was still a shock to us. We were not relatives or even old Irish buddies….just frequent diners in his restaurants and food friends. Whether it was in Old Tappan or Englewood, he made it a point to say hello, welcome back and “nice to see you again”. This is not only the trademark of a good restauranteur, but it is the measure of a man who cared about his trade, his establishments and his patrons. He gave us a warm feeling each time we met. This is what we will remember and be comforted by. We wish the same for his family, friends and diners like us.

  11. My deepest condolences to his family.

  12. We love Biddy’s in Northvale and what Noel created with his family at the restaurant. Since we have some family in Doolin, it was so great to see the Clare paintings and to eat pub food a step up in all ways of quality and freshness! Thanks, Noel for all. Rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to Eileen, Emma, Peter, Peg and family and the Biddy O’Malley staff, on Noel’s untimely passing. Biddy’s of a Friday evening was often a routine for us and it never disappointed. A fun place to start the weekend and have a very tasty dinner in a relaxed and comfortable setting. Noel was always welcoming and generous, a presence that will be deeply missed. May you rest in peace, Noel.

  19. This has been and always will be our go to as a “family”, but I’d purposefully go a little after the rush for years to sit at the bar and chat with Kieren and Dec (back in the day) and Sean AND NOEL because he had the kindest energy and a cool wit and could make the worst of days just be forgotten. I refer to him as “friend” because that is just what the gentleman made everyone feel – that you were his friend. You will be missed, my friend, but we are all better people because of you. My condolences to the O’Malleys.
