Mirtha Griselda Paron de Lopez

Mirtha Griselda Paron de Lopez of Park Ridge, formerly of Pembroke Lakes, Florida, born May 13, 1941, in Villa Canas, Argentina to Juan and Obdulia Yasci Paron, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.  She has now been reunited with her family and many loved ones that have passed before her.

Predeceased by her husband Felix Lopez for 61 years. Cherished mother of Ali Betts and her husband John. Adored Grandmother of Ashley Larkin and her husband Brian, Alex Rodriguez predeceased by her husband Pete Moulin-Malish, Danielle Betts and Johnny Betts. Proud Nonna of William and Maude Larkin.

Mirtha and Felix moved their family to Miami, Florida, in 1968. Mirtha began working in a bakery, selling delicious treats, and making homemade bread pudding in North Miami.  She taught herself English by watching TV, specifically One Life to Live, and working in a bakery.  She was born with the love of hair styling, and in 1970, began working in a hair salon in North Miami, eventually opening her own salon in 1979. In 1999, Felix and Mirtha moved to New Jersey to be with their family. As Mirtha was an avid social butterfly, she found her calling working as a cashier with A & P and then with Whole Foods, making a profound name for herself.  Mirtha was nominated as cashier of the month several times at A & P and was acknowledged by several executives as being one of the best service line employees ever to have worked at those companies.  She was such a big presence in the stores, customers would wait in line to check out with Mirtha, just so they could see her warm smile and loving personality.  She loved sports and was a huge cheerleader for the Dolphins and her beloved Argentinian futbol team. Even though she knew more about football than most people, car racing was always her favorite.  She made the best empanadas, and even got to share her delicious recipe on PIX 11. To all who met her she was a beautiful, supporting, loving friend. She spent her life working and fighting hard, and taking care of her husband. She had a lifetime of memories in Argentina, Florida, and New Jersey.

In celebration of her life, family and friends will be having an intimate gathering, with those closest to them, to share stories of all the amazing accomplishments, honoring her life.
