Peter A. Rinaldi, Sr.

Peter A. Rinaldi, Sr., 63, of Norwood, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Beloved husband of 43 years to Lisa (nee Mistretta). Cherished father of Peter Jr. and his wife Adrienne, Patricia Towey and her husband John-Paul, Lauren Talian and her husband Alex and Matthew and his wife Melissa. Proud and loving grandfather of Taylor, Peter, Ellie, Trevor, Gino, Emilia, Penelope, Dylan, Matteo, Nico, and Arleigh. Dear brother to Denise DeMarzo and husband, Vincent, Karen Horan and husband, Chris and Vincent, Jr. and wife, Denise. He was predeceased by his mother, Arline (nee Thorpe) and his father, Vincent, Sr. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Aside from his many talents, Pete was an avid, and expert hunter and sportsman. He loved spending time outside, no matter the season and no matter the task. He admired the beauty of a clean yard, after a long, hard days work, as much as he reveled in the changing colors of the autumn leaves while shed hunting in the woods.

Pete was a fixer. It didn’t matter if it was a mechanical issue with an engine, a tangled-up fishing line or a problem one of his kids was having; he was going to figure out how to fix it.

When Pete entered the room, his presence was felt by all. He didn’t go by “Big Grandpa” for no reason. When the roar of that big red truck came pulling down the street a crowd of his grand babies would be cheering, “Big Grandpa’s here!”and nothing was bigger than the smile on his face when he saw them.

His family was his world, his everything.

Only the love of our Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ can fill the hole left in our hearts. Until we meet again, in Heaven. We love you.

Visitation wil be Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 2-5 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pete’s memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, www.t2t.org, would be greatly appreciated.

It’s sad seeing your name here Pete. You were way too young. I remember meeting you back in the early 70’s when my father was doing a job for your dad. From then on, we had a friendship . You even helped me out once with my truck when I was on the side of the road. To the entire Rinaldi Family . My heart goes out to you.

Pete, I went through my entire education with you, we sat next to each other because our last names were close in the alphabet! Our sons played little league together! Reading of your loving family, all your grandkids, your legacy will be carried on eternally! God bless you, your family and all you’ve loved. I’ll see you when God invites me to stand in that stream of Heaven fishing for the next lunker! Thanks for being in my past…

  8. We were so extremely saddened to hear of Pete’s passing. He was the nicest guy and always had a genuine smile and a big wave when I would pass by your house on my walks. Lisa, you and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers. May Pete rest in peace with Jesus.

  10. Although we weren’t close over the past many years Pete we share the sacred Bond of friendship growing up together in Norwood I remember when used to come by my house and we go riding on motorcycles back in Bry soccer’s Farm! We competed heavily against each other in little league When We Were Young. You are great friend then,we experienced a lot of life lessons together and you will be missed greatly not only by me but many others who have touched in the same way. God bless you my friend and and I hope when I see you in heaven there’ll be a place where we can relive our motorcycle riding antics again. Rest in peace my friend and may all your family be blessed during this trying time.
