Thomas C. Thompson
December 22, 1946 – June 15, 2025
Thomas Thompson passed away in the arms of his wife, Meredith (Merry Matura) Thompson, June 15, 2025.
Tom, known as Tommy to his friends and family, served in the Navy having the opportunity to cruise almost entirely around the world. He was stationed off the coast of Vietnam giving ground support to the 1st Infantry. He returned home where he worked as a plumber, achieving his Master Plumber licenses in both New York City and New Jersey. He had his own business, TC Thompson Plumbing and Heating, for over 35 years. He was always ready with a story to tell, whether it be about plumbing, ghosts or UFOs. He was a die-hard Yankee fan. He loved his boat, Catherine S., named after his grandmother, and of course deep-sea fishing. He was loved by all.
Tom was a member of the Community Church in Harrington Park, NJ, where he served as a Deacon and an Elder. He loved to serve his church.
Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Meredith. He was the devoted father of Ardis Thompson, Christian Thompson and Jessica, and Megan Petrucelli and husband Michael. He was the cherished grandfather of Kallista, Cooper, Dominic, Owen, Easton, Bohdan, and Elle Ruthie. He was the proud brother of Charles, Robert and William Thompson.
Family and friends are welcome to meet the family at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, NJ on Tuesday, June 24 from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be at the Community Church in Harrington Park on Wednesday, June 25 at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories, Washington Township, NJ.

Honored to have known him. What an amazing life he had. ❤️
We are so sorry of hearing of the passing of your dad. He’s a great guy. Great father, a great granddad and a great friend to you Ardis.
He was a good friend for many, many years. The kind of guy you could call in need and he would be there. So close a relationship he was Uncle Tommy to my sons.
My deepest sympathy to you, Merry and your beautiful kids. Ardis, Christian and Megan and of course, all the beautiful grandchildren. I can’t tell you how saddened I am. I hope the wonderful memories you have of Tommy brings you comfort in the following days to come and forever.
Love you all Mabel, Billy and Jasmine Thompson
May the Light of Gods face provide a shining path towards your perpetual home with Him. I could not have asked for a better brother and I will miss you dearly.
Billy ❤
We are heartbroken over the loss of Tommy; our prayers go out to Merry and the rest of his family. He left us way to soon. I had so much respect for Tom, his compassion for others, pride in his profesional work, his patriotism, and a love for his wife and family.
I met DC Thompson on the U.S.S. Lowry one week before we pulled out of Norfolk, VA for a tour of duty off the coast of Viet Nam. We developed a close friendship that helped us both survive that stressful time. On clear, moonless nights we would lay on our backs counting the stars, smoking panatella cigars, and talking about the girls we left back home home. I for Virginia and he over a young woman he had his eye on even back then. God be with you Merry and your family.

I met DC Thompson on the U.S.S. Lowry, DD 770 one week before we pulled out of Norfolk, VA for a tour of duty off the coast of Viet Nam. We developed a close friendship that helped us both survive that stressful time. Far off the coast, on clear, moonless nights, we would lay on our backs, counting the stars as we smoked Panatella cigars and talked of the girls we left back home. I of Virgie and he of this young woman that clearly had captured his heart. God be with you during this time Merry. We luv you.
