Russ you are a good man. You touched the hearts of many people. RIP Brother. We will all see each other one day. Rest easy. This world has turned upside down. Enjoy the Heavens
I was so saddened to hear of Russ’s passing. He was truly one of a kind — bold, free-spirited, and always charting his own course, just like the true pirate he was.
Though he may be gone from our shores, his spirit sails on. May he now journey across calm seas, with the wind forever at his back and the stars to guide him home.
Please accept my deepest condolences. Wishing you peace, comfort, and the strength to navigate this difficult time.
With heartfelt sympathy,

Sending sincere sympathy at this difficult time. We were all so saddened to hear of the loss of your Dad. We knew him through his tree business in town, and would always get such a kick out of his free spiritedness, friendly smile and always, a funny quip or two. Our young grandson always thought of him as a real pirate, and we would share pics of pirates with him and he was in awe, as most 4 year olds are! More importantly, he was kind, and such a very helpful guy. . . .always willing to lend a hand to someone who needed it. We’ll miss his beep as he was passing by in the truck in OT, and when I look back into our woods, I’ll think of him and all the work he did with our trees over the years. He once told me he used to play in those woods as a little boy. May you all be comforted by the prayers and the memories of so many friends Russell had here in OT and beyond. . .
We had some fun dint we brother …riding,,breaking down … making dear head great again..the backstreets forever….until we ride again…argghh…alvederzane road pirate’s forever
RUSSELL, I AM SORRY FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO SAY GOODBYE TO YOU MY FRIEND! MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND EXCEPT YOU WITH OPEN ARMS ! SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE AND HOPEFULLY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CATCH THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY! RIDE TO THE CLOUDS !
You were definitely one of a kind. Knowing you through our son for many years, we thought if you as a friend. You always were there if we needed anything done. A genuinely kind person. May Gid welcome you with open arms.RIP.
Russ was a character and had character. As a White Ave neighbour (Northvale side), walking the dog, I would see that big black Dodge truck crest the hill and I knew my friend would slow, drop the passenger window, flip a thumbs up and from behind his grin, say “Hey” and rumble by. I will miss this.
Back in our teenage age years we raced dirt bikes in the field and woods between our houses, the Buckingham now, and took part in a number of bonfires too.
After moving back to town, I became a frequent customer too. His dedication and great manner and humour made an impression on my wife. She said “Where does a guy like this come from?” From me, all I could say was “Old Tappan, but that’s just Russ.”
RIP my friend
