Georgia Sotiropoulos, 91, of Northvale, NJ, on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Beloved wife of the late James Sotiropoulos and loving mother of Peter of Northvale and Theodora of Mahwah. Dear sister of the late Constantine Andreopoulos and the late Maria Hatzgiathanasiou.
Georgia was born in Proussos, Evrytania, Greece. She immigrated to New York City in 1953 where she met her future husband Jimmy. They celebrated 55 years of marriage together.
Georgia was an incredible cook and would feed anyone who visited her. She was quite a talented seamstress and enjoyed a long career as a dressmaker designing any type of clothing from simple dresses to wedding dresses.
Visitation hours are Sunday, May 17 from 2PM to 6PM at the Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, (201-767-3050). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, May 18 at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1 Marycrest Road, West Nyack, NY. Interment will follow at Tappan Cemetery, Tappan, NY.
