Rosalie’s family would especially like to thank her caretaker for the last seven years, Angie, for the amazing care she provided.
Born and raised in Lodi, she lived in Wayne and Maywood before residing in Rochelle Park for the past 35 years. Rosalie worked for Sears Roebuck in Maywood for many years before retiring. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church and prayed fervently for all in her life. Those who knew Rosalie will always remember her infectious laugh and sense of humor as well as her unwavering strength. She loved cheering on her Yankees, all things chocolate, and an ice cold beer when she was “sweating bullets”. Rosalie’s crocheted Christmas afghans and crib blankets were made with love and given to almost everyone who came across her path. Her icebox cake and Gem cookies were staples at every special occasion and holiday.
Above all Rosalie loved her family. She recorded everyone in her extended family’s birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and every milestone in between- making sure to send cards or call loved ones to make sure they always knew she was thinking about them.
It takes a special person to live 104 years and still leave those around her wanting more time. Rosalie continuously surprised everyone with her strength, resilience and ability to bounce back after the most adverse circumstances. She defied the odds time and time again. Rosie was the heart and soul of her family and her feisty spirit will be both missed and remembered by all who loved her.
