Anthony J. DeGruccio, 91, of Northvale and Norwood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Beloved husband of the late Catherine and the late Geraldine. Loving father of Charles (late Kathy), Michael, Mary Schneider (Paul), John (Nichol) and stepfather to Robert Guidera and Michelle Guidera. Caring grandfather of James (Rebecca), Thomas (Jess), Jake (Natalia), Anthony, Nikos, Stella, Daniel, Johnny, John (Reiko), Carly (Tom), Christina (Laura), Ellen, Olivia (Nick), and Joseph. Proud great-grandfather of Ruby, Eleanore, Rome and Johnny. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Rose DeGruccio.
Tony was born and raised in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as an engineering manager for AT&T for 35 years, a job that had him moving throughout New York before finally settling in Northvale, NJ in 1966. Tony was an active member of the Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corps for 23 years, as well as an active parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony’s Church. He was an avid New York Mets fan. Above all, he loved his family which he believed he was truly blessed with.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 5-8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Anthony’s RC Church, Northvale, NJ, with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.
