Donald G. DaCosta, 83, of Dushore, PA, formerly of Northvale, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at home with his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy (nee Ference) at his side. Devoted father of Donald of Westwood, Stephen of Toms River, and Michael and his wife Anne of Northvale. Dearest grandfather of six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Loving brother of his twin sister, Dalores Bongiovanni of SC, twin brothers, Headly and Edward of Bergenfield, and sister, Bernice Miles of Santee, CA. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Don was a carpenter in the Bergenfield area and later worked for Norel Plastics in Hackensack until he retired in 1986. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s R.C, Church where he was a Bingo caller for many years, and was also active as a Boy Scout Leader. Donald was blessed with an amazing voice and sang for Ann Moyer’s group, “One More Time”, for Christmas pageants in Towanda, and the Dushore Music Club. He also sang “The National Anthem” at various local Democratic Party functions.
A funeral service will be held at 8 PM on Saturday, September 29, at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ 07647 (201-767-3050). Visiting hours are also on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Pizzi Funeral Home.
